The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin because of two men. Her son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and his father, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

Diane knows that Kyle was, quite naturally, her all-access link to Jack when their son was a boy. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was an annoyance. But also someone who shot herself in the foot too many times to count. Diane has already benefitted from that pattern repeating.

Kyle was devastated by his mother’s loss. Any boy his age would have felt the same because of the close relationship they shared.

Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) self-defense murder seemed to permanently eliminate Diane from Kyle’s life. But, as fans have learned, Diane was never gone.

Kyle was outraged to learn that Diane lied to him and abandoned him all those years ago. But he accepted her explanation about not being mentally balanced and, while leery, is offering forgiveness with a full chance at redemption.

Y&R Spoilers – Jack Abbott Does Not Love Her, Yet

Jack arguably always had mixed feelings about Diane. However, he stood up for her after the presumed death, not wanting to sully the memory of Kyle’s mother.

Upon Diane’s return, Jack has also gone to great lengths to keep his personal opinions to himself. Phyllis pointed out Jack’s renewed response to Diane’s duplicity verses the hard out he recently took with their re-started relationship.

Phyllis fears that Jack will fall in love with Diane. But that has no realistic chance of happening unless a soapy circumstance is written into the mix.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – A Real Or Invented Event Happens

Diane is so manipulative that Jack might not be able to tell if she is part of a scenario where he needs to rescue her or she plays the heroine in some form of dramatic event. Among those who know Walters’ character, who could dismiss that an assumed event could happen?

It would take many years for Jack to come to trust Diane more significantly. That is far too long a time frame for daytime. So, viewers should anticipate something happening as soon as this summer that will make Diane look good in Jack’s eyes.

Phyllis will give whatever happens the fish eye, with Jack likely dismissing her warnings yet again on Y&R.
