However, Mariah acted understanding and calm about the situation. Don’t be fooled, though, this is clearly the calm before the storm.

Y&R spoilers reveal that when Mariah got pregnant with Abby and Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) baby, she was careful not to get attached. However, that all changed when Mariah was kidnapped and held hostage for months by Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan). Mariah had nobody to talk to except the unborn baby. By the time she gave birth and was rescued, Mariah had already formed an attachment to the child.

Mariah’s issues have been problematic and it seems that the story is far from over.

Y&R Spoilers – Grief And Uncertainty

As Mariah tries to cope with being separated from Dominic, Abby has received word that Chance is presumed dead. Abby is going through grief, but is also uncertain that Chance is really dead. Abby has decided to leave Genoa City to get her head together. While she is gone, Abby has entrusted Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to care for the baby.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Mariah has found out that Abby is gone and left the baby with Devon. Nobody knows where Abby went and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is beginning to panic.

Surprisingly, Mariah didn’t freak out over the situation. Instead, she tried to be reasonable, logical and understanding. With how intense and fixated Mariah has been on the baby, though, this calm reaction doesn’t fit. It could be the calm before the storm.

Y&R Spoilers – Irresponsible Statement

There was a clue dropped on Wednesday’s episode that Mariah is about to have a complete meltdown. While talking to Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson), Mariah mentioned that Abby was being an irresponsible parent. It was almost as if Mariah is faking being calm but at the same time is looking for others to agree with her about Abby not being a fit parent. It seems as if she is searching for justification for what she plans on doing next.

So, as Abby continues to endanger her life by searching for Chance, how and when will Mariah blow up? What will she do to get the baby for herself in light of Abby’s recent decisions? Will anyone see it coming or could Mariah’s behavior leave everyone blindsided and horrified?       I'd like to see Mariah get help and move on. I don't want to see Abby have another child ever again if she's just going to treat it like something to add to her shiny collection of "I wants". She cried and pouted about getting that kid, all to just dump it. She may have left it with it's biological father but that's just it, both Devon and Mariah have more bond than Abby does with that baby because I couldn't see either leaving it and taking off like she has. I hope Devon gets custody.

      As a surrogate; not her egg; she has NO LEGAL CLAIM to Dominic.
      All ties should have been broken once he was born…
      On the other hand there’s Devon; he is the child’s biological parent.. he & Abby are the ones tied genetically to Dominic..
      Hoping when Chance returns that he can act as father figure.
      If he and Abby don’t work out for whatever reason; would truly love to see Abby & Devon raise him.
      Sorry; but from my point of view I see no reason to involve Mariah…
      Can’t placate her being kidnappped with a place in the baby’s life…
      And the child’s name is Dominic; NOT BRODY….
