That includes becoming a mother to Dominic Phillip Newman Abbott Chancellor (no baby actor’s name known for this role). But a dilemma exists, with no easy solution at hand.

This situation calls for a lot more than willpower. Abby’s godparent’s gesture is a good start, but still leaves Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) in need of help.

It is fair to ask why Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), a licensed therapist, did not insist that her daughter see a mental health professional immediately after the rescue. Also, how did Mariah get released from the hospital without a referral by her doctor?

The selfless gifts that Mariah and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) provided allowed Dominic to be born. Mariah’s surrogacy was necessary because of Abby’s scar tissue, which exists because of the miscarriage baby she and Ben Stitch Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) were going to have.

Mariah has not completely collapsed. But being held captive for weeks, while also being pregnant, has taken a heavy toll on her mind. Thankfully, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) is fully attuned to what happened and is helping as best that she can.

Mariah is dealing with the post-traumatic reality of attempting to revive her life’s routine, while also feeling intense separation anxiety from Dominic.

Y&R Spoilers – Bond With Godson Needs To Evolve

Dominic was the motivating factor that allowed Mariah to maintain stability while Stitch had her locked in that room. Grimes’ character referred to the then-unborn baby as Bowie, which was a cool way to honor the late, great singer, musician, and actor David Bowie, who passed from this world to the heavenly Stardust in 2016.

Thankfully Dominic and his surrogate mother were found in time. Abby and Devon delivered their genetic child, who spent a brief period in Genoa City Memorial Hospital, and then was taken to the iconic Chancellor mansion. It has been very hard for Mariah to be around Bowie, uh Dominic, since that time.

Abby recognizes that Mariah feels awkward around the child she carried for nine months (in soap time). So, the godmother request is her first significant attempt to help Mariah move ahead.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – What Comes Next On Y&R?

Abby apparently will continue to raise Dominic by herself, while TPTB either allows the Chabs plot hole to widen or definitively fill it. Chance Chancellor (as last played by Donny Boaz) needs to return or be written out. Continuing the storyline will further its weakness.

Mariah has been holding on because she is strong. But she is not invincible. So here’s hoping that she can realize peace of mind.

Stitch needs to turn himself in or be captured soon. Then, Mariah will be able to value time spent with the godson she brought into GC.

      You writers need to talk to Mariah to let her know that little guy Dominic is not hers
      but Abby's son, she needs help at the psychiatric hospital so she can keep her mind off
      the baby that is not hers.
      As for Ashland, he is lying to the Newman's and will be asking Nate to help him fake his
      death so he doesn't meet up with this Jesse person that is after him for his secrets.

      Mariah and her suffering is the only believable, entertaining and talented part of this ridiculous story of a block of wood being called a baby. It will be great to see her leave Pinocchio behind with his no brain, equally wooden mother Abby. Mariah deserves a better story and perhaps one day a real baby. This story goes from bad to worse with lots of the leading characters now look like insensitive idiots with their behaviour towards Mariah and their fawning over bimbo Abby and her designer block of wood. I wonder if Mariah got splinters pushing out the stupid pretentiously named Chancellor Abbot Newman chunk of wood? Totally rediculous and insulting story, can't wait for this garbage to end.
