The Young and The Restless spoilers and rumors tease there could be a teenage triangle coming, however short-term it would be. It seemed obvious that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) is getting his first crush on Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) and jealous over Johnny Abbott’s (Paxton Mishkind) and her bond.

Undoubtedly, since Connor is younger than Johnny and Lily, it would be more of a teenage- tween age triangle. Johnny and Lily are teenagers, but Connor isn’t quite there yet-but on the verge of puberty.

Lucy’s been in town because of Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) “death” and “funeral” so she probably won’t be in town long-eventually, she’ll have to go home to her mother and Portugal.

It’s a well-known fact that Connor has had problems sharing those he loves – starting with manipulating his parents together and bullying his other brother Christian Newman (Alex Wilson).

Johnny’s been trying to help him with accepting his upcoming baby sister via Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) but is he jealous over Lily or jealous over Johnny-could be either way!

It’s far more likely that Connor is crushing on Lily, and finds himself feeling in unfair competition with Johnny. Yes, when he bullied Christian and broke up Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and his mother Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) he was parent-trapping his parents. It did work for a while but then after a while it didn’t-and his mother had some very serious problems for a very long time.

Finally, with a lot of help, surgery, and a lot of understanding-Chelsea’s ok and he and she are together. She and his dad co-parent but don’t compete over him-it’s a much safer feeling.

Connor is eleven, and just at the age when boys start to quit thinking girls are sources of cooties and other nasty things. Soon he’ll be sprouting some whiskers, getting a whole lot taller and his voice will do weird sounding things. But when those hormones first start working, the emotions usually start aging first, and a boy will get his first crush.
