The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that fans will soon be saying good-bye to yet another familiar face from Genoa City. That’s because Emmy winner Eileen Davidson is checking out from the daytime drama. Many of her fans know her best as her character, Ashley Abbott.
According to CBS Soaps in Depth, Eileen took to her Twitter account to inform her fans about her decision to leave The Young and the Restless. She said, “Yes, I am leaving my second home at Y&R in September. I’ve been so blessed to be able to play Ashley Abbott and work with the amazing people on the show and have nothing but gratitude and love for all.”
Ashley first made her debut on the show back in 1982, before she appeared on Santa Barbara, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Days of Our Lives. Eileen said that one of the reasons why she decided to leave is because she wants to spend more time at home with her family, or as she puts it, “time for a little more control over my day-to-day life.”

Sources also say that one-time The Young and the Restless cast mate Stacy Haiduk will be taking over for one of her roles on DOOL. And if she does, no one knows which one it will be! Either way, fans will definitely miss seeing Eileen on both The Young and the Restless and on Days of Our Lives, too.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on the CBS network. Check your local listings for times. In the meantime, drop us a line with your thoughts in our comments section below.
