Billy will look great, not just good, in comparison to the man who would truly wear the Lockeness Monster title, if that happens. But scenes where Ashland was by himself appear to confirm that he hasn’t been lying. Hopefully that holds true, as that will make the Vashland pairing a feel-good storyline.

So, assume that Victoria has fallen in love and merged Newman Enterprises with the Locke Communications Group. That’s a major double coup that Victor should be and is rightfully proud of.

Y&R may be presenting a storyline that’s sad, with Ashland dying months from now. Alternatively, this could become a tale of great success, with Burgi’s character going into remission or receiving the best possible news.

Victoria is the reason why Ashland has agreed to pursue treatment. His reversal of course is centered on a desire to spend more time with Harrison and Victoria.

A short-term play, ending in the fall or winter, would be good drama. But a cancer cure would be great soap.
