Ashland’s cancer diagnosis appears to be impacting daily life, as the experimental treatments are having a noticeable effect on his strength.

The wedding is teased to be realized. But whether it lasts is a valid question considering the impossibility of knowing whether Ashland continues to withhold information that would lead Victoria to end their marriage shortly after the nuptials conclude.

Bobby miraculously escaped and conveniently took Ashland’s place at the interview with Camilla Rhodes (no actor’s name known for this retrospective role). The real Ashland never met Camilla in person, which allowed Bobby to pretend to be him when meeting her.

But how did Bobby know for sure that his friend and Camilla had not met? That felt like a hole in his story or the plot.

Y&R Spoilers – Victoria Newman’ Hard Choices

Victoria told her loved ones and friends that she digested what Ashland said. She is choosing to rationalize it as part of a traumatic experience that happened decades ago when Bobby was approximately twenty years old.

Heinle’s character feels conflicted. She is in love with Ashland and their merger deal was realized last month. The Newman-Locke transaction seemed unbelievably rushed, considering the size of both companies. But that is what the viewers were asked to believe.

It could be that Bobby is not telling the truth about how he came to realize that internship interview. Instead of an accident, he could have intentionally caused the crash to cause his supposed friend’s death in order to meet Camilla.

Ashland admitted something unusual several weeks ago, which was before his big reveal at the Newman Ranch. He told Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) that he might have faked a terminal illness in his younger days when asked if his claimed condition was a ruse. Victoria offered a hybrid look of confusion and shock in response.

At this point, there is no way for anyone to know what is true and what is not. Ashland might have come from an abusive home. He could have reacted on the spot when taking his friend’s wallet and leaving his identification behind at the crash scene. He might have been influenced by Jesse Gaines, Senior (no actor known to be cast for this role) when going along with a will codicil forgery scheme. But any or all of the above could represent lies.

No hard confirmation exists for much of what Ashland is claiming, including his cancer diagnosis. So, Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) instinct could be right and Victoria may have willingly entered a nightmare merger and marriage.
