Melody, who owned the 6,000-square-foot home with her husband, TV producer Edward Scott, banked $6.14 million for the sale, per Mansion Global. Located inside a community protected by a guarded gate, the  English Tudor-style estate reflects the renewed appeal of that type of architecture, reflected listing agent Elizabeth Scott of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties. “There was an interesting shift in aesthetic preference while on the market,” she noted. “Initially, everyone wanted to make major changes to the home. Suddenly, people were loving it the way it was. English Tudors may be making a comeback.”

Featuring wood panels and beams and vaulted ceilings, the mansion contains five bedrooms. A chef’s kitchen offers a walk-in pantry. In addition to the wine cellar and tasting room, a gym helped Melody stay in shape for those long days of filming “The Young And The Restless.” Got family or friends who want to visit? But the main bedroom suite where “The Young And The Restless” star spent much of her time offers the mansion’s best views. Edward, the former executive producer for “The Young And The Restless,” currently serves as supervising producer for “The Bold And The Beautiful.” And while both spouses work in a world of make-believe, Melody takes a very down-to-earth view of what marriage requires. 

“A marriage is two people who love each other, obviously, and respect each other enough to both be caretakers of the unit they’ve created,” reflected the soap opera star. “It’s swallowing your pride about something if it makes your partner feel better. It’s hard sometimes,” she admitted. “But I very firmly believe that when you write down a list of priorities, your mate should be No. 1.”
