The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Billy’s Luck Runs Out – Phyllis Discovers Truth

Billy (Jason Thompson) told himself a number of lies on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That’s what gamblers do. The first victim of addiction is the reckless individual, the second is often a spouse, or some type of significant other.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) knew nothing about Billy’s returns to the poker table. She confided in Hilary (Mishael Morgan) that her man might be fooling around. Morgan’s character is savvy, so she made Phyllis take contact information for a private detective.

Being trailed to where Sinead (Lira Kellerman) was playing with Billy normally would have revealed something other than piles of playing cards, poker chips, cash, and compulsive personality types gathered around their oval shrine. But, as Y&R fans know, Billy was attempting to win enough capital to buy back Jaboat. That was the yacht he lost a few days earlier to his on-again gambling nemesis.

‘Philly’ is in its second incarnation. The initial run didn’t fully end, as Phyllis and Billy have something deep between them. Chapter two appeared to be leading to an eventual engagement and possibly, marriage.

Along with the above, Jack (Peter Bergman) is someone who Summer (Hunter King) feels her mother should have never left. Summer’s campaign to damage Billy’s personal life has worked as quickly as Y&R’s staff story-boarded it. The rapid devolution of Thompson’s character basically serves as Billy’s latest redux.

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) will surely cite money loss and the foolish use of Jabot resources when she becomes aware of her brother’s behavior. Having returned to Jabot, she’s now primed to take over.

Phyllis was totally okay with the yacht being bought. But her concern over its loss will be connected to Billy having lied about the activities that caused him to surrender the keys.

Summer’s link to Billy’s downfall won’t put her in good stead with Phyllis. But Billy might be aided through that revelation, as Phyllis could see him as being lured back to the bad life she’s helped to keep him away from.

Philly’ has been good for each half of this couple. This situation will test whether the pairing survives.
