The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that the Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) versus Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) certainly has gotten actor Jason Thompson acting on instinct.

For the last several weeks, Young and the Restless fans have seen Billy’s descent into near madness. In other words, we’ve been seeing the devil inside him that we didn’t know had existed!

Billy’s portrayer says that he’s found himself tested as he now plays two different characters – the real Billy and the one that has an alternate personality. Yikes!

As a matter of fact, Jason Thompson tells CBS Soaps in Depth in a new interview, “It’s different than anything I’ve ever had to play, especially with this character, but also anything I’ve played in my soap career. It’s been really fun but also challenging in a lot of ways.

“I don’t get scrips super far in advance. It’s not like a movie script where I would know where all the plot points are, all the arcs and everything else the character is going to go through. I have to trust the process while at the same time adding more layers as I go along. Believe me, it’s been a zigzagging road.”

And while there’s no doubt that The Young and the Restless fans have been on the edge of their seats over what has been going on, apparently the same can be said about Jason Thompson.

He says that there have been some scenes that have been so intense that it left him in a daze. We believe it! But at the same time, Jason says that it’s fun and challenging and that he hopes it strikes a chord in people.
