Mishael Morgan talks about how she was lured back to “The Young and the Restless”, to portray the role of Amanda Sinclair, in a new interview with Soap Opera Digest.

When she left the show, viewers, including co-star Bryton James who portrays Devon Hamilton, felt that she was gone for good. She felt the same way, too. The actress believed her stint was over and it was time to move on.

She may not be a person who goes back to the old things that she already left behind, but “The Young and the Restless” was an exception. She revealed that she had an inkling the show might want her to return, but it never crossed her mind that it would really happen.

Morgan said that it all started as a “personal thing.” The show contacted her for a brief stint where she would return as a ghost for a certain episode. She said yes right away but it didn’t feel to her that she’s back for good.

When she got the call asking her if she was interested in returning to the show, she was flattered and honored to be part of the list of cast members whom the show decided to bring back because of the huge impact they made on the soap.

She was even more thrilled when she found out that her character was an attorney. It was like a dream come true for her since she’s always wanted to become one in real life. She even got into a law school, which she turned down for acting.

Morgan, who now plays the role of Amanda Sinclair, said she’s very much different from her previous role of Hilary Curtis. Unlike Hilary, Amanda knows who she is. She’s a no non-sense person who is grounded, very professional, intelligent, driven, and ambitious.

When asked how she plays Amanda differently, she said: “She sounds so much like Hilary when I read it on paper that I have a really hard time trying to figure out how to say these things differently.

“Because I’m playing through my body where she’s more professional, I do carry myself differently. My hands move a little differently. But I definitely think I’m a lot more still when I’m playing Amanda. Hilary was all over the place,” she continued.
