Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman) lives in Adam. A piece of her is also in Connor, which Adam recognizes.

Despite all that’s happened in the distant past and more recently, Nick still sees that Adam can be a positive influence on Connor. While Morrow’s character is committed to reforming ‘Chick’ and raising Connor and Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) with Chelsea, he also knows that Connor needs his biological father’s presence in his life.

Adam had a breakthrough after learning that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was alive. Now, he has another after his brother arrives in Vegas.

Nick was at peace when Adam left town. His brother has caused so much unnecessary upheaval since first arriving in GC in 2008, with very few periods where any form of trust existed.

Chelsea needed Nick to help her locate Adam and talk him back home. The situation with Connor has grown increasingly intense, as he’s unable to deal with the many family crisis points that have been dropped on him within the past few months.

Beyond raising Adam’s son, Christian, as his own, Nick also fully opened his heart to Connor. That decision isn’t lost on Adam, who knows that his brother has actually been helping him for years.

The audience was taken on a wild thrill ride since the spring when Grossman became the latest Adam recast. In yet another epic battle, the Newman family ostracized Adam again. As he came to acknowledge, it was a deserved kick in the pants.

Adam’s return to Vegas was just a break, as Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) said. In effect, he needed time alone to come to grips with what he did and what must come next.

A fresh storyline will see Adam as less manipulative. Sure, Y&R can’t write him too far away from character, or the storyline won’t be authentic. But the intensity of the battles Adam was having doesn’t need to be repeated now. Instead, a focus on what’s best for Connor makes sense.
