Simply put, Chelsea realizes that she’s in big trouble. She will be left stunned when one of her late husband’s so-called business associates Simon Black shows up at the Grand Phoenix and demands the millions that Calvin left to her. What Chelsea doesn’t know is that this money is the result of dirty dealings.

The Young and the Restless head writer Josh Griffith tells Soaps in Depth in a new interview, “Simon’s arrival in town catches Chelsea by surprise as she never expected someone would contact her about an unpaid debt. She thought that her past with Calvin was behind her and that asking Kevin to launder the money would give her a clean break.”

And now Simon is clearly serious about getting the cash back. When Chelsea asks Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) to return it, he informs her that the funds were being kept in a bank account that has been sieved by the government.

Griffith further explains that Chelsea knows the situation with Simon has gone from bad to worse. He adds, “Chelsea then suddenly asks if Abby would like to buy out her share of the hotel. Abby is taken aback by the offer and assumed Chelsea is joking.”
