Young and the Restless Spoilers for Thursday, January 10: Genoa City Helps Reed Remember His Dad, Phyllis Causes Chaos At Memorial

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) begins with JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) memorial preparation. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) warns Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) not to expect too many people for it as Billy (Jason Thompson) reminds Victoria he is there for her.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) tells Nick (Joshua Morrow) she is not going and can’t understand how Victoria would do this after JT abused her; Nick reminds her they are going for Reed. Phyllis promises she will handle the fact that Victoria smacked her but it is best she stays away because she is liable to smack her right back.

Traci (Beth Maitland) tells Kyle (Michael Mealor) she is off to the memorial, as he finds it bizarre that Reed would want to host one not knowing if his dad was murdered by his grandfather, Victor (Eric Braeden) or not. Traci hopes today will be about JT’s life, rather than how complicated it became at the end; reminding Kyle how much JT meant to Colleen.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Traci And Kyle Catch Up

Traci is thrilled that Kyle is so happy with Lola (Sasha Calle) and tells him to treasure each moment with as they will last a lifetime. Mia (Noemi Gonzalez) in the meantime is preparing Lola’s makeup for her special date with Kyle. Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) agrees with the rest of them that the heat is still not working in the apartment, but takes the time to tell his baby sister how beautiful, elegant and classy she is. Rey wonders why this date is so special for Lola, not impressed with her answer of wanting to show Kyle how much she cares.

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) arrives, asking Reed to get her a tea while Billy takes a call. Victoria wants to know what Nikki is doing there but she quickly learns Nikki feels guilty that she is the reason Reed doesn’t have a father any more.

Arturo (Jason Canela) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) are at the Dark Horse office, where Abby informs Arturo she is going to JT’s memorial service. She admits it will be awkward but she is doing this for Reed. She turns down Arturo joining her as it will be intense and filled with drama.

Nick refuses to stay home with Phyllis, no matter how much she tries, but she reveals that Victoria defends Victor and will show off this false sense of grief for Reed. Nick feels Phyllis was egging Victoria on. Phyllis is surprised Nikki is going and when Nick says he needs to watch out for Nikki, Phyllis says she is coming now that she sees how stressful this will be for Nick.

Nikki tells Victoria this is her way of making amends, standing beside Reed while he mourns his father. Nikki keeps Victoria in suspense as Maddie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) arrive; along with Cane (Daniel Goddard), and Victoria isn’t too pleased to see him there.

Billy asks Maddie to give him Lily’s (Christel Khalil) information as he would love to get into contact with her. Sharon (Sharon Case) arrives as Victoria confronts Cane about coming. He feels this is the last place he’d want to be, and just as they mention the kiss, Billy interrupts them.

Victoria sits with Sharon, who says she is there to support the wonderful thing Victoria is doing for her son. Cane tells Reed that Traci is there and he admits he is doing a lot better now that she is there. She is pleased he is honoring his dad this way as Reed reminds her of all the very best parts of JT.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Rey Has Doubts About Lola And Kyle

Mia talks to Rey about how cute it is for Lola to be this excited about her boyfriend; but Rey dampers the mood as he doubts they will last long. When questioned, Rey says he likes Kyle but just not for his sister; she suggests he get used to Kyle being around since Lola is in love and its the kind of love that sticks.

Kyle sees Lola, who looks absolutely amazing at the GCAC. She reveals she has been planning this perfectly romantic date since she was 15 and now she gets to live out the fantasy. He tells her he is loving everything he is seeing so far, completely disregarding the champagne she has ordered. Kyle says no matter what happens tonight, he will love it all. When the music starts, she agrees to dance with him as it was definitely part of her fantasy.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Mackenzie Arrives

Reed is happy to see Mackenzie (Kelly Kruger), who said she was so touched by Reed’s invitation, she had to be there. She felt she need to be there as much as him since she wants answers too. Abby worries to Nikki that Victor is covering up but Nikki promises she only wants to bring Victor home. Reed is happy with the full house as Nick checks on Nikki. Phyllis confronts Victoria about inviting Nikki, feeling this is too much pressure on her and suggests they need to get her out of there; Victoria says the only person she will be throwing out of the house is Phyllis!

Mia gives Rey the phone, saying it is the GCPD and he has to leave to go deal with a drug bust. Mia who is freezing, tells him not to call Sharon as she will take care of the heat herself. Once Rey leaves, she calls Arturo for help, saying she is freezing and he promises to come by in a bit. Arturo tells Mia they will not have any heat tonight and says they need to replace the furnace. Arturo says he will text Sharon for an emergency tech or she can get a hotel. He then offers his place but Mia doesn’t think that would go over well with Rey. He says she is right and should find a friend, leaving her to freeze to death on her own.

Phyllis feels the heat being off the four of them is a good thing. Nikki says her entire family has suffered because of this secret and isn’t making any promises. Mack is very proud of how Maddie and Charlie has turned out as she also is shocked to see Nick and Phyllis back together and Billy being very close to Victoria; Mack doesn’t look happy about Victoria moving on and Phyllis doesn’t like what she is seeing either.

Lola reminds Kyle of the first day they met, but he knows how lucky he is to be with her tonight. She admits she was way off with the assumptions either. Kyle admits he has had previous girlfriends, but these feelings are new to him as they have skipped all the deliberate game playing. He says being with her is so damn easy, like falling off a log. When they have a misunderstanding, they learn from it and move on. He had no clue it was possible to relate to a woman like this and now he realizes this is how you’re supposed to feel when you are in love.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Arturo And Mia Wind Up Alone Together

Mia is wrapped in a blanket, drinking hot tea when Arturo returns. He informs her that he knows someone who will bring the equipment he needs to fix it in a few hours. She invites him to sit on the couch, but he refuses until she says if he gets frostbite he can’t fix much of anything. It is clear he is extremely uncomfortable.

Phyllis tells Billy to slow down on the PDA, especially if Reed doesn’t know. She is pleased to know Billy is taking his time, but she is very snotty with him. Reed asks everyone to sit down as Rey calls Sharon about finding a child at the drug raid and needs to speak to a social worker. Sharon excuses herself as she needs to deal with a work emergency and hopes Nikki will be okay. Reed knows most of the people are there for him, more than his dad but would like to see if anyone has good memories they would like to share and Traci goes first.

Traci talks about JT and Colleen’s love; how wonderful he was as a musician. She would like to believe that JT is with Colleen and has put the darkness behind him forever; all the adults have a hard time listening to JT being praised.

Mia shows Arturo how happy Lola is, but he can’t believe how fast this is happening but Mia remidns him they were only teenagers when they fell in love. Arturo suggests she calls Rey, even as she admits that she always felt something would take him away from her, especially tonight.

Kyle and Lola are finished their dinner, but he would love for her to have one more dance with him and she agrees. She realizes he is used to a different ending but he doesn’t want her to feel the least bit of pressure. She is happy he understands at how important waiting is to her.

Reed talks about all his “bone head” moves, but he realized there was some good in him, unfortunately JT isn’t getting the same treatment but he was so much more than that. Traci talked about him being a musician and he had no idea until JT busted out the guitar and how talented he was. Reed feels it was one of his best moments in his life when he got to play along with his dad. He talks about when he had his DUI and JT returned to help him, feeling his dad put in the effort and really cared about the way he thought. He begins to sob about how much he missed him.

Mack says he is describing the man she wants to remember and it breaks her heart that his siblings will not remember JT; he promises to remind them. Nikki cries as Reed asks her if there is anything she wants to say about his dad. Nikki apologizes but Phyllis stands up saying she has something that needs to be heard, by all of them!
