Young And The Restless Spoilers: Here's How To Watch New Y&R Episodes During Trial PreemptionsThe Young and The Restless spoilers tease that CBS will now stream new episodes of The Young and The Restless on CBS.com and CBS All Access!

Two Episodes Have Been Impacted So Far By The Trials

In a tweet on The Young and the Restless’ official Twitter page, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) announces in a video attached to the tweet that viewers can now see new episodes of the CBS daytime drama, after a two day pre-emption by the Senate Impeachment trial of US President Donald J. Trump.

It is implied that CBS is taking a page from NBC’s playbook regarding their one remaining daytime drama, Days of Our Lives, and putting it on their website every night so that viewers do not have to put up with delayed episodes. The Young and The Restless’ sister daytime drama, The Bold and The Beautiful, also has new episodes posted.

How Long Will The Impeachment Trial Last?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has unveiled the proposed rules for the trial, which started January 21. The rules were loosely modeled on those of the impeachment trial of former President Bill Clinton, but altered to allow for a swifter trial. Under the proposed rules, the House managers and the president’s legal team would each have 24 hours to present their case, but have to use that time in a two-day period, which would allow McConnell to speed through opening arguments by the end of this week.

Following opening statements, senators would have up to 16 hours to ask questions of both sides, which would be submitted in writing and posed through Chief Justice john Roberts, who will preside over the Senate during the duration of the trial. It’s hard to say before seeing the final rules,McConnell is pushing for a speedy trial that has a chance of being concluded prior to the State of the Union address on Feb. 4. This would allow The Young and The Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful to hopefully be broadcast for at least part of February sweeps, but with CBS’s decision to show both soaps on cbs.com and CBS All Access, viewers needn’t miss a single episode!
