Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of April 24th imply that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will reach out to Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and let her know she’s “alive”. This will be great for Summer; however, added teasers reveal that Red will ask her daughter to keep this all a secret. This will not only cause issues for Summer in her marriage to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), but it will likely create drama between her and her brother Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei).

Y&R spoilers hint that Daniel and Summer won’t land on the same page about something in the days ahead. This could mean that Summer decides to bring her brother in the loop about their mom (feeling guilty if he is struggling).

It’s hard to say how forthcoming Phyllis will be when she outs herself to Summer. Will she tell her the whole truth or a story that will have her looking decent in her daughter’s eyes? Regardless of what story Red tells Summer, if Daniel finds out his mother is alive, he may feel as if the only “right” thing to do, is to go to the police.

If Summer tells Daniel the truth, the siblings may end up in conflict. After all, whether Phyllis’s story makes Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) “look bad”, Kyle’s mom shouldn’t be in the slammer for her murder. If Red is alive, then she needs to go to the cops and tell them her story. He’ll believe that lying to everyone will only blow up in his mom and sister’s faces, and he’s not wrong. Plus, there’s the Kyle factor, and Daniel will try and reason with Summer on this front. Not only is she lying to her hubby, but in doing so, she’s also keeping his mom away from him.

Of course, Summer is much like her mom. She’s been resenting Diane for a while, and Phyllis’s “death” allowed her the space and freedom to explode on Jenkins without facing any repercussions from either Kyle or Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). She’ll believe that she and Daniel should side with her mom no matter what; that Red’s death made her realize how important their relationship and family are.
