The Young and the Restless spoilers for Tuesday January 7th indicate that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will tell Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) to go on tour, Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) plans a birthday celebration for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) questions his friendship with Amanda Sinclair (Mishel Morgan).

Young and the Restless Spoilers – Mariah returns home to Tessa

Mariah is sitting on the Crimson Lights patio with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). She fills Sharon in on the situation with Tessa and her ex-husband Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman). Sharon agrees it was wrong for Tessa to lie and she should’ve come clean sooner. Sharon says the best thing Mariah can do is trust herself. Mother and daughter hug as Mariah thanks her for her help.

Back at the apartment, Tanner is awaiting an answer to his tour offer. Tessa says she needs more time before she makes a decision. When Tanner asks if her girlfriend is holding her back, Tessa becomes offended and says Mariah just recently found out about their marriage. Tanner says his girlfriends know about his past and asks why Tessa is erasing their history. Tanner offers to talk with Mariah, but Tessa declines.

Tanner says offering her the spot on tour is his way of paying her back. Mariah arrives home, where she is introduced to Tanner. He says he’s heard a lot about her and thanks her for her support towards Tessa. As Tanner prepares to leave, he tells Tessa he needs an answer soon about the tour. After he leaves, Tessa and Mariah chat about the tour, and Mariah thinks Tessa should do it. This is a big opportunity for Tessa, and Mariah doesn’t want to be the reason she turns it down. Tessa thanks Mariah, but says she needs to make the decision herself. Mariah agrees to support her no matter what the decision is and the two embrace.

Young and the Restless Spoilers – Billy questions friendship

At home, Billy is helping Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) get ready for her upcoming trip to Singapore. As Victoria is preparing to leave, she reminds Billy that the kids are spending the night at the ranch. She thinks some alone time will do him some good. After Victoria leaves, Billy starts reading a self-help article, but it doesn’t do anything to help him. He then text Amanda asking if they can meet.

Later Billy and Amanda meet on the Crimson Lights patio. She starts the discussion by saying she’s looking for a new challenge. Billy suggest figuring out why they’re friends and what they have in common. Amanda can’t explain it, but she feels comfortable when she’s around him. Billy talks about the night in the dive bar when the lights went out and how that’s not their only shared moment. They agree for now just to enjoy what’s going on. The two continue talking and Amanda brings up Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

Billy talks about his and Phyllis’ romantic past and they’re breakup, then says they’re friends now. Sharon comes out on the patio to find the two together, she didn’t know they knew each other. Billy brings up how he and Amanda are connected due to Victoria and Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) roles in faking Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) death. As Amanda is leaving, she gives Billy a strange look. After Amanda leaves, Billy sits alone wondering why he hid their friendship.

Young and the Restless Spoilers – Kyle’s birthday

At the Grand Phoenix, Summer Newman (Hunter King) is sitting with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). She says that Lola is planning a surprise for Kyle’s birthday, and Theo wonders if it’s a trip. He then says that’s probably what Summer would’ve planned if she and Kyle were still together. Summer sits in silence as Theo explains that he knows Summer still thinks about the what-ifs with Kyle.

He then asks what Summer got Kyle for his birthday. Summer switches the conversation and suggests she and Theo have some fun. When he suggests they go upstairs, Summer comments on him acting like a wild child when all he wants is to be like Kyle. She then brings up how Theo decided to stay in town because of Lola. Theo then brings up how she secretly wishes he’ll break up Lola and Kyle. Summer tells Theo he’s a terrible person, then leaves the hotel.

Lola has arranged for Society to close down for the night so it’s just her and Kyle. She blindfolds Kyle, then brings him into the restaurant. Kyle is happy to have some alone time with Lola tonight. To start off the celebration, she serves him the same meal he ordered from her food truck.

Kyle comments how life is better now that he’s with Lola. She serves the rest of dinner, while Kyle prepares a drink called January Birthday. They talk about everything that’s happened the past year, and Lola brings up her fears that the honeymoon period will end for them. Kyle reassures her everything’s fine and vows they can work through any problem. To end the evening, the couple slow dances.
