The Young and the Restless promo for the week of December 16th thru 20th indicates that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will have a proposition for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) grows closer to Amanda Sinclair (Mishel Morgan).

For the past couple of months, Adam and Phyllis have been partners in crime. Even though Adam says his days of scheming are over, he has one last plot up his sleeve.

Adam wants to break up Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). Since Chelsea’s moved in to help with their son Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), Adam’s feelings for his ex have resurfaced. He wants to be a family again with her and Connor, but Nick is standing in the way.

Adam knows trouble is brewing between Nick and Chelsea, and he wants to put an end to their relationship once and for all. In order for his plan to work, Adam asks for help from Phyllis to seduce Nick.

After receiving Adam’s proposition, Phyllis is going to be appalled. Adam says it will help make things right and Phyllis can go after what she wants.

For the past few weeks, Phyllis has been getting cozy with Nick. The two have reconnected as they play video games and vent about their lives over dinner.

It’s obvious Phyllis and Nick still have feelings for each other. Phyllis has made it known that she doesn’t think Chelsea is a good fit for Nick. She feels that Chelsea is going to cause more problems for Nick, and even though Phyllis has warned Nick, he won’t listen to her.

Phyllis may not like Adam’s idea, but she may go along with it if it’ll get Chelsea away from Nick. Plus, it’ll set up the reunion between Phyllis and Nick.

Billy has been spending a lot of time at the dive bar, where he meets Amanda. The two share drinks as they discuss their lives and figuring out what they want.

In a clip from the promo, Amanda asks if Billy is looking to have an affair. He then asks if Amanda is trying to sleep with him.

Billy and Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) marriage is starting to show signs of trouble. Victoria’s job has kept her from spending time with her husband. Meanwhile, Billy’s behavior is changing as he falls back into old habits.

Billy loves Victoria, yet when he’s around Amanda he can be himself and not worry about being perfect.

The big question is if Billy’s willing to risk his marriage for an affair with Amanda.
