Tom Selleck – Speaks Out On Blue Bloods Cancellation

Over the weekend, Tom Selleck shared his thoughts on Blue Bloods’ cancellation. He could risk losing his California ranch.

In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the legend addressed whether the network will continue with Season 15. That’s when he threatened the network to reverse its decision.

Blue Bloods: Tom Selleck Threatens CBS

“Well, that’s a good question,” Selleck said. “I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses. We’re the third-highest show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. I can tell you this: We aren’t sliding off a cliff; we’re doing good shows. And still holding our place. So, I dunno. You tell me.”

The first part of the Blue Bloods Season 14 finale concludes with a two-part episode on Friday, May 10. The second half could air in the fall. Tom Selleck isn’t the only one upset over the cancellation news. Fans expressed their outrage on social media.

“What is wrong with you CBS? Fire Country routinely gets lower ratings than #BlueBloods, yet you decide to end #BlueBloods, while doing a spin-off of Fire Country,” one outraged fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

It’s unlikely that CBS will renew Blue Bloods for Season 15. The network wants to focus on its other crime dramas.

Deadline reported that CBS ordered the new series, Sheriff County, which will air during the 2025-2026 season. The Fire Country spinoff stars Morena Baccarin, who plays the role of Sheriff Mickey Fox.

Tom Selleck – Could Lose Ranch

Because of CBS’ bold move, Tom Selleck could lose his home. The Magnum: P.I. alum might not be able to afford his 63-acre ranch in Ventura County, California.

Selleck starred in the hit CBS series since its premiere in 2010. He plays the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.

“You know, hopefully, I keep working to hold onto the place,” Selleck admitted on CBS Sunday Morning.

“Seriously? That’s an issue? If you stopped working?” host Tracy Smith asked.

“That’s always an issue,” Tom Selleck explained. “If I stopped working, yeah. Am I set for life? Yeah, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch!”

He purchased the ranch in 1988 after he quit Magnum: PI. Selleck revealed that he’s not retiring from acting. He enjoys what he does and wants to keep at it. What are your thoughts on the Blue Bloods’ cancellation rumors? Sound off below in the comment section.

It is outrageous that CBS is cancelling Blue Bloods. They has amazingly talented actors and the storyline and progression of action holds my attention the entire 60 min. Whereas, although its a fairly good show, Fire Country has somewhat limited stories to tell. I mean fire is dangerous and those heroes who battle the flames should be honoref but not at the expense of cancelling a truly worthwhile show. Please keep Blue Bloods on the air.
