David Eigenberg Joins Sex And The City Reboot

Star of Sex and the City, David Eigenberg, recently confirmed that he will be reprising his role from the original HBO series in the late 90s. David starred as fan fave Steve Brady, who was a bar owner.

David Eigenberg, who is currently starring in the popular NBC series, Chicago Fire, will be welcomed by fans of the series that was aired between 1998 and 2004 to much acclaim.

Sex and the City is a novel by Candace Bushnell that was adapted for small-screen television by director Darren Star. The series went on to win many awards and is recognized as one of the best series from the stables of HBO.

Two films, Sex, and the City, and Sex and the City 2 were launched after the popular series came to an end in 2004.

HBO Max Announces Sex And The City Remake

HBO Max announced in the early part of this year that a remake of their high crossing series will be released in a limited series version, titled And Just Like That.

Following the news that the long-time lover of Carrie, Mr. Big, played by Chris Noth, will not be among the cast members, fans were quick to ask if David will be part of the new production of the series. To their delight, the Chicago Fire has confirmed his availability to be part of the series reboot in an interview with an online tabloid.

During the interview, David confirmed that he will be reprising his Steve Brady role as he had been called by producers. The character Steve Brady was introduced to fans of the series in season 2 as Miranda’s one-night stand, quickly becoming a fans favorite.

David Eigenberg Isn’t The Only One Coming Back

During the interview, David expressed delight at having a reunion with his wife on the series, Cynthia Nixon. Cynthia plays the role of Miranda Hobbes in the series. who had a baby boy for Steve before they got married? David hopes that his family in the series are kept together in the remake.

The cast and crew is not seeing only the return of David and Cynthia, as other original cast members of the series, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis will be reprising their roles. However, Kim Cattrall will not be making a return to the series.

Sarah, Kristin, and Cynthia teased fans about the Sex and the City remake in January in a video clip uploaded on Instagram. Another star of the series, John Corbett, confirmed he will also be part of the remake in an interview recently. John played the character, Aiden Shaw, who was Carrie’s former boyfriend.

The filming of And Just Like That is expected to start soon and will be comprised of 10 episodes that center around the characters of Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda, who are in their 50s, as they navigate their way through their friendship that started in their 30s. The effect of the coronavirus pandemic on New York is part of the storyline in the series remake.
