Fans may recall that Stabler gave Olivia a mysterious letter and nobody knows what it says except for the two characters. The pair have always had a special bond and they’re drawn back together after the murder of Stabler’s wife. There have been episodes where they can be seen together hunting for clues on who’s behind the crime.

Viewers have always rooted for the pair but they never got together before Meloni’s character left Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Now that he’s back, albeit, on a different show, fans are still hoping to see them finally hook up.

He said that the revelation will “set [their] heads on fire when it happens.” He thinks it’ll be “a riot.” However, viewers will learn what the letter is all about in parts instead of one big reveal.

“You’re going to hear what’s in the letter. Maybe not the full and total [letter], but you’re going to get an earful,” Meloni said.
