Law & Order: Organized Crime spoilers tease that the names of Eliot Stabler’s (Christopher Meloni) new team have been released by Law & Order: Organized Crime show runners prior to the premiere of the new spinoff on April 1.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Spoilers – Elliot Stabler Returns To The NYPD And Visits SVU After Ten Years
In the promo for the back to back premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime, which starts in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Stabler and his new team intersect with Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her Special Victims Unit team at a crime scene, where a burning car can be seen and many police and firemen, as well as paramedics have arrived. Elliot has been absent from police work and from the Special Victims Unit for ten years, and never said goodbye to his partner Olivia or explained his sudden resignation.
Now, he spots his old partner at this crime scene and calls her name as she is shocked to hear the voice of her old friend and partner. He catches up with her and Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutola (Ice-T) in the SVU episode that serves as the pilot for Organized Crime. He has had a devastating personal loss in his absence, and is rebuilding his personal life as well as rebuilding his career in law enforcement.
Also in the Law & Order Organized Crime pilot, Kathy Stabler (Isabel Gillies) will turn up alive after previously being presumed dead and seek help from the Special Victims Unit. With her in the SVU episode will be daughter Kathleen (played by Allison Siko) and son Dickie (Jeffrey Scaperrotta). Kathy is very upset because one of her sons, likely Dickie since he is mentioned in the teaser for the show has been drugged and rolled by a gang of miscreants.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Spoilers – Meet The Team
Elliot’s team consists of Richard Wheatley, played by Dylan McDermott, Richie (no last name given) played by Nick Creegan, Sergeant Ayanna Bell, played by Danielle Moné Truitt, and supporting players Tamara Taylor and Ainsley Seiger. The first episode is called “What Happens in Puglia”.
This will be Christopher Meloni’s first time playing Elliot Stabler in a decade, and the actor mirrors his character in that he says it wasn’t until now that it “felt right” to return to the role, as Elliot will be heard telling his SVU friends that he was just waiting for the right time to return to police work.

Meloni told Entertainment Tonight in an interview that a certain piece had fallen into place, and that for him there were some personal reasons that he left ten years ago, and personal reasons for him returning now. Meloni said there was nothing secret, that was it and now was the right time. He also mentioned in the interview that it is rare to have that kind of clarity about a given project. He commented that maybe it was just in the stars and maybe the stars were giving him the go ahead!
Meloni and Hargitay have picked up where they left off as Benson and Stabler, respectively, even though it has been a decade since they played those characters together. They are friends off screen and perhaps that is part of the magic. Meloni said also that SVU gave birth to both Mariska and Meloni and Benson and Stabler, and they feel inextricably linked and connected in that way.
