Law And Order Special Victims Unit Spoilers – Elliot Stabler And Olivia Benson Reunite

On the Special Victims Unit episode which serves as the pilot for Organized Crime, Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) reunite when Elliot shows up at a crime scene and Olivia spots him. They were partners for twelve seasons on Special Victims Unit and the relationship between the two was one of the show’s biggest draws.

But in 2011 Meloni suddenly announced he wouldn’t be returning for season thirteen, shocking fans! It was revealed later that as happens many times, Meloni’s contract negotiations fell apart and so the season twelve finale also served as Stabler’s final episode, with viewers never getting a proper goodbye for the popular character.

Now, the highly anticipated spinoff featuring Stabler as the head of an organized crime unit – think investigating the mob – is all ready to go! Stabler’s family will also be featured in the new show. His family consists of his wife, Kathy Stabler (Isabel Gillies); his daughter Kathleen Stabler (Allison Siko); and his son Dickie Stabler (Jeffrey Scaperrotta). Of course, the kids will be a lot bigger and older than when fans last saw them ten years ago! They will be featured in an episode entitled, “Give Me My Remote!” However, the kickoff episode does involve a threat to Elliot’s family so it will be tense! Threats to Elliot’s family will not be a surprise considering these are mobsters he’s dealing with! Eliott’s whole family is not included, with baby Eli (uncredited baby actor), his daughters Maureen Stabler (Erin Broderick) and Elisabeth “Lizzie” Stabler (Patricia Cook) not being mentioned.

Law And Order SVU Spoilers – More About The Premiere Episode And The Team

One sure thing is that Kathy will be very upset after Dickie is rolled by a team of thugs and possibly drugged in the premiere episode. Elliot’s family life may look a little different since there was a scrapped SVU season finale episode that would have focused on what happened to the Stablers after Elliot left SVU and apparently left them! Elliot and Kathy had separated in season six, but reconciled in season eight, and with this many years intervening between then and now, they may have divorced.

Or, Stabler left his family as a result of taking a new job and having to get established in a different location before bringing his family to where he was. Christopher Meloni shared in July of 2021 that Stabler’s relationship with his family will have seen improvements since viewers last saw him. He said that he believes Elliot is in a much better place with himself, concerning his world. New cast members have been reported as joining the Law & Order franchise, comprising Elliot’s team of mobster busters!

Among them are Dylan McDermott, Tamara Taylor of “Bones” fame, and Danielle Mone Truitt. Character names for the team have not yet been announced. Mariska Hargitay started posting shots from the new show on social media when they were filming in January. Stabler not only has a new job, he has a new purpose, and viewers will see an “evolved” Stabler.

Elliot has a lot of apologizing to do to Olivia. Partners for 12 years and he doesn’t even contact her that he’s leaving? Then not a word for 10 years?!?
His emotional state when he resigned is totally understandable.
But leaving Liv in a black hole of emotional distress, and feeling abandoned, has to be explained.
