NCIS: Los Angeles Spoilers – Season 12 Ends May 9, When Will Season 13 Begin?

NCIS: Los Angeles’ season twelve will end on May 9, with fans wondering what will happen next. The good news is that CBS has renewed the long-running series for a thirteenth season, although exactly what the premiere date will be is a somewhat educated guess! Television production and television series, in general, have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and the months-long production shutdown that occurred in 2020, and so airdates and airing schedules are somewhat unpredictable. All television shows have mixed in reruns, some calling them “classic episodes” in with new episodes in order to stretch them out, but most still winding up with shortened seasons in spite of their efforts.

NCIS: Los Angeles is no exception! We can make a somewhat educated guess and speculate that season thirteen will likely premiere close to when season twelve did, the first part of November. A lot depends on how many episodes they have “in the can”, in other words, how many have been filmed. Prior to 2020, the seasons would start perhaps in September, with breaks for sports programming or holiday programming around Christmas, with the series returning after the holidays, usually in January, then run till around May. If NCIS: New Orleans has filmed enough shows for a full season, then season thirteen might look like a pre-pandemic season, if not, then probably a shortened season starting new shows the first part of November.

NCIS: Los Angeles Spoilers – There Are Two Episodes Left In Season 12, What Will Happen In Season 13?

While exact spoilers are not yet available for season thirteen, we can expect that the first episode of season thirteen will pick up where season twelve’s last episode, the season finale, leaves off. There are some current cliffhangers and questions to be answered that may carry over to season thirteen. The next episode, “Imposter Syndrome” airs on Sunday, May 2. The team obtains a hard drive that contains a very realistic deep fake video of a deceased terrorist. The technology behind it is dangerous and it must be retrieved. The team’s communication is hijacked during the mission, however, and one of their own may be a victim of the technology’s potential!

The season finale, “Times Of Change” will air on May 9 but no other information is yet available. We know that most of the main players will return; Special Agent Grisha “G” Callen, played by Chris O’Donnell; Special Agent Sam Hanna, played by LL Cool J; and presumably Operations Manager Henrietta “Hetty” Lange, played by Linda Hunt will check in once in a while when the team least expects it. Intelligence Analyst Nell Jones, played by Reneé Felice Smith is getting a little tired of filling in for Hetty, as discussed in the last episode that aired, but she’ll probably hang in there. Tech Consultant Eric Beale, played by Barrett Foa is technically not a member of the team but consults as needed; Special Agents Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Fatima Namazi (Medalion Rahimi), and Devin Rountree (Caleb Castille) round out the team.

Considering what happens in “Imposter Syndrome” with the next episode titled “Times Of Change”, season thirteen may be short an agent, but until the shows, air, or more details are released about “Times Of Change” we won’t know what or who changes in the remainder of season twelve! As far as season thirteen, we can probably expect storylines about Kensi and Marty’s attempts at conception to continue, Callen to decide to marry Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly) or stay single, and whether Hetty will return to active duty or Nell will continue to have to babysit her job!
