NCIS Season 19 In The Works – Will Mark Harmon Return

After months of speculation if NCIS would return for season 19, CBS has confirmed its renewal for the procedural drama next season.

Although CBS did not confirm Mark Harmon’s return, The Hollywood Reporter revealed he’ll still stick around.

NCIS News – Closer To Make History

NCIS remains to be one of the most popular procedural series and it has been on TV for over 20 years. WIth its renewal for Season 19, it is now closer to potentially making history as the longest-running primetime series of all time versus the current holder “Law and Order: Special Victim Unit” that has 22 seasons and is still airing.

Following the announcement, It was revealed that “NCIS: New Orleans” will be closing next month following a seven-season run. The drama being led by Scott Bakula will have its finale on Sunday, May 23. Another spinoff series is set to boot called “NCIS: Hawaii” with a possible female lead and for “NCIS: Los Angeles” that is currently in its 12th season, there was no announcement yet for its renewal.

The Face Of NCIS

Mark Harmon first appeared in the episode “Ice Queen” on “JAG”, NCIS parent series. Since then he has been portraying Leroy Jethro Gibbs for nearly two decades. Aside from Mark, David McCallum remained as a main cast member from the very start.

It was rumored that Harmon plans on leaving the show for good. As the face of the show, CBS informed the actor that the network would likely bid goodbye to NCIS as well if he exited. This made the actor reconsider his decisions and CBS was able to tie Mark for this next season.

Although it is certain that the actor will stick around, The Hollywood Reporter hasn’t revealed yet if he will be back as a regular or if he’ll only appear in a limited episodes, similar to how David McCallum appears in the series.

Pam Dawber’s Special Appearance

NCIS’s brought in a very special guest, no other than Mark’s real-life wife Pam Dawber appearing as Marcie Warren on the April 6 episode titled “Gut Punch. Pam has been married to Mark since 1987 but it was only the first time she agreed on the role.

The actress told Digital Spy that she had one condition before signing the role: No Romance. “I just haven’t been interested in, you know, chasing the business. At this age, that’s what you do. You’d have to really want it. I just don’t want to put myself out anymore. You know the old song, ‘I haven’t got time for the pain,’ she explained.

When being asked if her show in the NCIS is done, the actress teases: “I’m not sure it’s over!”
