NCIS spoilers and updates tease that Mark Harmon will reportedly make “a few appearances” as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs on NCIS Season 19. Sources revealed that Harmon will make a limited appearance on the show and that CBS is in talks with Gary Cole to join the cast. The network has yet to comment or confirm these reports.
NCIS Spoilers – Mark Harmon To Make Limited Appearance on Season 19
Reports have been circulating that Harmon will make a limited appearance in the show’s upcoming season. The network has not revealed any specifics regarding this issue but sources have confirmed that the actor won’t be seen that much next season.
TVLine reported that Harmon’s number of appearances will be “in the low single digits” and another said he’ll be making only “a few” appearances. A CBS representative declined to comment on these reports. But in previous interviews, CBS entertainment chief Kelly Kahl said “we take it year by year with Mark.”
“We’d love to have him as long as he’d like to be here…. [W]e’re happy to work around his schedule,” Khal added.
It seems like the network has prepared for all these given how season 18 ended. Fans may recall that in the season finale, Gibbs, who was suspended indefinitely at NCIS, was blown up while taking his handcrafted boat out in the open water. In the final moments of the episode, his body can be seen floating away. The season ended with fans wondering who the culprit is.

NCIS Spoilers – CBS Reportedly In Talks To Bring Gary Cole Into The Fold
With Harmon’s limited appearance, the show needs someone to fill the void that Harmon will leave behind. The network is reportedly in talks to bring Gary Cole on board for a major role in the upcoming season 19. If this is true, the network is keeping the details of Cole’s role in the show under wraps. He’ll be an excellent addition to the show. There are other spaces that need to be filled in given that Maria Bello and Emily Wickersham have both left the show.
There are major changes happening in NCIS. Harmon, Cole, and CBS has not confirmed anything yet so viewers just have to wait and see what will happen next. The show will be leaving its regular time slot, which is Tuesday 8pm. When season 19 airs, it will be scheduled every Monday at 9pm starting this fall.

If he doesn't want to be on the show, then why doesn't he just retire and let them hire someone to take his place.
