NCIS Spoilers – Who Is Pam Dawber?

Longtime television viewers will remember that Pam Dawber came to fame as Mindy McConnell, Mork From Ork’s (the late Robin Williams) friend, roommate, and later, his wife on the Mork and Mindy situation comedy on ABC. It began as a spinoff, one of many, of the iconic “Happy Days” situation comedy, also on ABC from September 14, 1978 to May 27, 1982. Mork was an extraterrestrial who came to Earth from the planet Ork in a small, one-Orkan egg-shaped spaceship. The show’s pilot was in season five of “Happy Days” in an episode called “My Favorite Orkan”.

He was supposed to take Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard) back to Ork as a specimen. Richie woke up and realized it was only a nightmare but Mork was so popular Garry Marshall, the creator and producer decided to give Mork his own spinoff, in which Pam was cast as Mindy.

The situation comedy was set in Boulder, Colorado in the late 1970s and early 1980s. A few years afterwards, after Mork and Mindy was cancelled, Pam landed the role of Samantha Russell on “My Sister Sam” in 1986-1988. It followed the lives of a 29-year-old San Francisco freelance photographer named Samantha “Sam” Russell and her 16-year-old sister Patti (Rebecca Schaeffer). Sam’s life is turned upside down when Patti, who had been living with the sisters’ Aunt Elsie and Uncle Bob in rural Oregon after the death of the girls’ parents, showed up on Sam’s door step and announced that she was going to live with her older sister. Sadly, the iconic sitcom is better known for the stalking and murder of Rebecca Schaeffer, who Pam has many times said was like a real life sister and her murder affected her greatly.

NCIS Spoilers – Pam Dawber Will Play An Investigative Reporter Named Marcie Warren

AMP in the post

Beginning on April 6, Pam will play Marcie Warren, a longtime investigative reporter. She is described as having a savvy wit and down-to-earth people skills, which she uses in her tireless pursuit of truth via journalism. This is the first time Dawber has been in any movie or television show opposite her husband, who plays Leroy Jethro Gibbs. She will be a recurring character for four episodes, which will be shown as an arc. Her last appearance on broadcast television had been in an episode of the CBS reboot of “The Odd Couple” in 2016.

It will be interesting to see how husband and wife play off each other, and also interesting as to whether Marcie and Gibbs, who currently is on suspension for beating up a dog abuser, will eventually be in a romance. This particular arc of four episodes that Pam is cast in is as recurring, but then CBS has yet to announce whether NCIS will return for season nineteen. The next episode, “Gut Punch” airs on April 6 and will be the first episode Pam appears in.

NCIS is on a shortened season of sixteen episodes because of the coronavirus pandemic, and “Gut Punch” is number eleven. If the show is picked up again for the new season, and Mark Harmon doesn’t leave the series, as has been rumored for months, perhaps husband and wife offscreen could become husband and wife onscreen in future episodes!

Stay tuned to NCIS and keep checking NCIS spoilers frequently for all the latest news, updates and developments!
