NCIS Spoilers: Winter Chill Preview – Gibbs’ Team Gets Devastating News In Episode 9

NCISNCIS spoilers tease that while the team dives into the competitive world of food trucks when a man is frozen in the back of one, they also grieve, apparently for one of their own or someone close to Tobias Fornell (Joe Spano) and the entire NCIS team!

NCIS Spoilers Season 18, Episode 9

First in the preview for the upcoming episode “Winter Chill” NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) gathers the team to investigate a new case. He shouts at the “kids” to bundle up, they’ve got a body, as NCIS Special Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) gets his gear on to get on the road! Someone has killed a man, likely a Marine since the Naval Investigative Criminal Service is the Navy version of the police and investigate any crime against one of their own.

However, investigating that death could be difficult, as it appears that the team has received some very bad news, with Forensic Scientist Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover) hearing about it first, as she breaks into tears down in the lab. Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) appears to see her distress, as he stands in the shadows just outside the open door. He looks very concerned for Kasie, and alarmed at what the bad news may be. She talks to the person on the other end of the phone, saying that we deserve a good cry.

It is obviously very, very, bad news, as Kasie appears to be heartbroken! In the meantime, something catches Gibbs’ attention as he wheels around also with concern in his face. Then the scene shifts to the NCIS morgue, where Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) tries to comfort Kasie. Could the frozen man in the truck be someone the team all knows and loves, or are these two different deaths and two different situations?

NCIS Spoilers – Without The Worst Of Times, We Cannot Appreciate The Best Of Times

NCIS Episode 9 spoilers tease Jimmy tries to be comforting, albeit a bit philosophical as he tells Kasie the good news is, without the worst of times they would not have anything that makes them appreciate the best of times! Kasie closes her eyes and continues to look grieved. Meanwhile, in a hospital trauma unit Gibbs has joined his old friend and former romantic rival FBI Agent Tobias T.C. Fornell (Joe Spano) in the waiting room outside what appears to be an operating room. Suddenly Fornell appears first to be shocked, then he bursts into tears!

NCIS viewers will remember from several episodes ago, when Gibbs finally tracked down a missing in action Fornell, he had been working in a restaurant as a cover, searching for the head of the drug ring responsible for supplying the drugs that led to his daughter Emily Fornell’s (Juliette Angelo) overdose. Could the body in the food truck be connected to the restaurant where Fornell had worked?

Could Emily have had another overdose, with dire consequences, or are Fornell and the NCIS team grieving for someone else they knew and loved? Meanwhile, back at NCIS Headquarters, Special Agent Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) reaches out to Torres, and he tries to comfort her as she, too, cries in grief and shock! Back in the morgue, Kasie thanks Jimmy for trying to comfort her.
