The Rumored Doctors Leaving this Year’s Season

From all indications, the rumored doctors to leave The Resident are Dr. Mina Okafor (Shaunette Renée Wilson) and Dr. AJ Austin (Malcolm-Jamal Warner). The love story between the two medical practitioners of Chastain Park Memorial Hospital is incomprehensible. Their off-on secret romance kept us going until AJ finally broke it off with his girlfriend to be with Mina. While their relationship hasn’t been perfect, the lovebirds have the love to keep it going.

Favorite Moments

Our favorite moments in The Resident’s fourth season were when Mina and AJ got engaged. Yes, we can’t get enough of the duo. So, you should know by now that it would be heartbreaking if the two-star Medica practitioners of Chastain Park Memorial Hospital ended up being the doctors to leave the series.

Bad News For Fans

Sadly, it looks like Mina and AJ will be the doctors taking a bow off The Resident. In an episode in the fourth season titled, “Doors Opening, Doors Closing,” Mina’s immigration status was brought up again. However, there had been gossips that she would leave for a new job in Boston, or that her immigration brouhaha would force her to leave the country, but it looked like she was staying put after all.

Unfortunately, Mina was heard telling AJ at the end of the ninth episode that it was best she went back to Nigeria. She convinced AJ that her reason for considering Nigeria was not only for visa reasons but also to help her mother.
