Will Shadow And Bone Be Renewed For Season 3 On Netflix?

Netflix’s Shadow And Bone Season 2 dropped on the streamer on March 16, 2023, and fans are already excited for another season. The fantasy series developed for Netflix by Eric Heisserer is based on a series of two books titled Six Of Crows and Shadow And Bone trilogy.

Shadow And Bone tells the tale of Alina Starkov who is an orphan who discovers that she is born with special gifts that the people term as Grisha. Moreover, she also has a special responsibility to address the dire need of the universe she is in.

Season 1 adapts the story from the 2012 novel Shadow And Bone. However, it also features an original story featuring the Crows, a notorious criminal gang. Season 2 adapts the story from the second and third book in the trilogy named Siege And Story (2013) as well as Ruin And Rising (2014). It also features some elements from the Six Of Crows storyline.

The latest season wrapped up with a cliffhanger episode leaving viewers to wonder if there will be a third season to provide some clarity on what happened. Although Netflix hasn’t yet green-lit the series for another season, the show’s cast members have shared their interest in investigating more aspects of what happens to their characters in the future.

Also, reports suggest that there is a plan for Six Of Crows spin-off series. So, even if Shadow And Bone doesn’t receive a renewal, the story might continue with the spin-off series. However, given that the Netflix series was a three-season project from the start, there is a big chance that it will be renewed.

Shadow And Bone has fared well on the streamer and Season 2 has topped the charts ranking among the top 10 titles on the streamer. Generally, it takes anywhere between 4 and 6 weeks for a show to be renewed or cancelled depending on its performance. Although Netflix doesn’t really prioritize critic and fan reception, the show’s top 10 ranking and viewed hours suggest that Shadow And Bone will definitely be renewed for Season 3.
