Yellowstone: Jefferson White Teases Cryptic Details About Jimmy’s Absence From Season 5

Yellowstone spoilers, news, and updates tease that Jefferson White has dropped some hints as to why his character, Jimmy Hurdstrom, has been absent, in season 5. What happened to the character?

Fans may recall that Jimmy went to 6666 Ranch in Texas to work and he was given an emotional send-off in season 4. While he was away, it was revealed in season 5 that he found the love of his life, Emily. With his character being absent in the current season, fans are wondering where he is and if he’ll ever make an appearance in season 5.

It was announced earlier that all major characters including White’s alter ego will return for the fifth season. There have been rumors, too, that Jimmy will take center stage in the upcoming Yellowstone spinoff titled 6666 Ranch.

While hosting The Official Yellowstone Podcast, Jimmy dropped some details about his character while talking to his guest, Piper Perabo, who plays Summer Higgins on the show.

“It’s a thing of Taylor’s of which, you know, he writes these characters that could be easily dismissed under certain circumstances, or some percentage of the audience wants to easily dismiss. They wanna say exactly what you (Perabo) just said, ‘Oh, this lady from the coast, she’s coming in here and what does she know?’” White said.

“Or a character like Rainwater, for instance, in season one, who the audience might have wanted to conveniently, easily dismiss, and then Taylor sticks with these characters over time, they grow more and more complicated, you come to see their perspective. The characters themselves are listening and learning,” he continued.

As for Perabo, she also expressed her excitement over what’s to come for her character, Summer. She said that it was just starting. She admitted that she’s not allowed to say anything but she teased that a lot of people will go nuts because it’s so hardcore and out of control. She sent a picture over to her mom after the first day of shooting. She didn’t tell her what was happening but her mom was also shocked at what was happening.

White revealed that he also had to explicitly warn his family whenever something bad happens to Jimmy. He added that being absent in Montana the whole season makes it easier for him to keep a handle on the spoilers because he’s not there to see it all go down. Is Jimmy leaving the show?
