Neighbours Spoilers: Everything You Need To Know About David And Aaron’s Wedding

Neighbours Spoilers: Everything You Need To Know About David And Aaron's WeddingNeighbours spoilers have revealed an exciting first look at the wedding of Aaron and David.

Viewers recently saw Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) and David Tanaka (Takayah Honda) get engaged after a heart-warming double proposal. We’re happy to say that the couple will be heading down the aisle soon, in scenes that were filmed this week.

Neighbours spoilers indicate that the scenes first air on Monday 3rd September and will be the first ever same-sex wedding to be shown on Australian television – what a privilege it is as fans to experience such a historic moment!

Media outlets worldwide have been abuzz with the news, with photos and videos giving a back-stage peak at the ceremony, which will be officiated by Australian actress and LGBTQ+ activist Magda Szubanski.

Speaking to the media, Neighbours’ Matt Wilson revealed: “We are both ecstatic to be part of this huge moment in Australian television, and it stands alone as the highlight of my career. This storyline means a lot to me, to my friends and to all the fans we hear from on a daily basis here and in the UK who love Aaron and David.”

Takaya Honda added, “It is an absolute privilege to be a part of what is and will be a historic moment in Australian television. There have been so many parts of David’s story that have given me a great sense of pride and which have been an absolute honour to portray; from discovering Paul was his dad, to his coming out to now marrying the man of his dreams in what will be the first legal gay wedding on a drama.”

When same-sex marriage was legalised in Australia last year fans were calling for Aaron and David to get married, but executive producer of Neighbours Jason Harbison kept coy, refusing to reveal if it Aaron and David would end up together. But it seems like this was always his plan, even before the referendum passed.

He revealed, “This is a story that we have been working on for a long time, and during that time, our country was trapped in a divisive referendum. “Would our story about love and equality even be legal by the time it aired? Thankfully love won and we’re very excited for viewers to see this iconic moment come to life on screen.”

How exciting! Make sure to tune into Neighbours this summer to watch the run up to the most exciting wedding of the year!
