Coronation Street Spoilers: Psychic Scam Forces Leanne To Fight, Rage Replaces Grief

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) has been in deep grief since the death of her little boy. Things are only getting worse and now she is paying psychics to communicate with her dead child. However, she realizes that it’s all a con and gets mad. It brings back the fighter spirit in Leanne, which will help her save Simon Barlow’s (Alex Bain) life.

Corrie spoilers reveal that Leanne fought to keep her boy alive and even went to court. The judge sided with the hospital and eventually, she was forced to pull the plug on Oliver Battersby (Jeremiah and Emmanuel Cheetham). Since then, she hasn’t been coping very well. Hiding in Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) flat, lying about going to France for the holidays, overdosing on sleeping pills, and she even quit her job. She’s having Simon, who is just a teenager, support her financially. This includes paying all those expensive psychics who claim to be communicating with Oliver.

This week, Leanne will pay another psychic to communicate with Oliver. Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) happens to be there to warn Leanne about Simon’s activities. She decides to stay while the psychic tries to scam Leanne. The woman is desperate and willing to believe anything, but eventually, enough is enough. When it becomes clear that the psychic isn’t talking to her dead son, Leanne loses it and kicks him out of the flat. Even though it is terrible that people would con grieving parents, it might be the kick in the pants that Leanne needs.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Simon Barlow’s Life In Danger

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that while Leanne has been wallowing in her grief, Simon has been struggling to support them. He was set up to be in dire need of money in addition to the mounting bills of Leanne’s. His bike was stolen and some other things happened. Simon’s new “friend” ended up loaning him the money, but it was all a big set up from the beginning.

Now Simon is being forced to deliver drugs to pay back the money. This week, we will see him coerced into kidnapping a teenager and stuffing him in a car trunk. Then he loses the bag holding the drugs, which young Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) gets ahold of. He will also be told to “sample” the drugs, but it’s an order, not a request. It is teased that Simon will soon find his life in danger.

Coronation Street Spoilers – From Grief To Rage

It was already confirmed by producer Iain MacLeod that Leanne would put on her armor and go save Simon from a ruthless drug lord. It seems that admitting the psychics were scamming her and getting angry is how she’s going to turn things around. She’s already angry about being conned amid her intense grief. When she learns just how much trouble Simon is in and he could lose his life, that anger will escalate into rage. However, it is that rage that will allow her to fight for Simon… and once again give her the will to live.
