Coronation Street spoilers and updates reveal on May 12, had Corey Brent (Max Evans) framed Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) as Seb Franklin’s (Harry Visinoni) murderer and was later charged with a murder case by the authorities.
Kelly was there when the gang, headed by Corey Brent alongside Eli Higginson, confronted Seb and his gothic girlfriend Nina (Mollie Gallagher). Kelly started the conflict when she slapped Nina after being told to go home since she’s drunk, but she didn’t chase them down, much more beat them up, which resulted in Seb’s early passing.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Change Of Hearts
Kelly previously pleaded her innocence during her interview with the police agent. However, this young woman had a change of heart and paid Corey a visit to announce her decision to cooperate with the police for the investigation.
Meanwhile, the manipulator’s father Corey’s dad Stefan (Paul Opacic) heard Kelly’s confession to admit to the police and then advised his abusive son to get to the police station first to save his reputation.
Adding more conflict to Kelly’s difficult spot is her biological mother Laura (Kel Allen) who made an unexpected comeback to the Cobbles and ordered her to keep silent. On the other side, Kelly’s foster father Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo), managed to encourage Kelly as he headed to the interview room to represent his foster daughter.
However, their hearts dropped after realizing Kelly was being charged responsible for Seb’s murder. Unfortunately for them, Corey went straight to the police station to carry out his dark schemes stimulated by his father. He claimed he would cooperate, and he pinned Kelly as the one to be blamed, even confessing that it was she who instigated the attack. Unlucky as Kelly was, the police found Seb’s blood, as the DNA confirmed, on her clothes. Another evidence was the voicemail Seb left for Abi, just before the attack, which recorded Kelly laughing.
Kelly claimed she didn’t attack them beyond just the slapping, but this only made things worst as the police observed her changing versions of the story.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Fulfilling A Promise
Imran Habeeb, after his interview with the police, went back to tell his wife Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor), about the charge and that they need Kelly to go to court tomorrow. The news terrified Toyah, seeing that she and Imran would be treated as “pariahs” if they remain by Kelly’s side.
However, Imran as the ever gentlemen has made up his mind to fulfill his promise of supporting their foster child. He said he believed Kelly when she claimed Corey lied and framed her.
Recently, actress Millie Gibson, the portrayer of Kelly Neelan has revealed that she watched “Murdered for Being Different”, as part of her research for the show’s storyline for Seb and Nina which was based on a real hate crime towards Sophie Lancaster.
“I was just a blubbering mess… We knew we had to make this an amazing educational storyline. Because it is based on true stories of hate crime, bringing it to soap is critical to get it right,” the actress told The Mirror.
