Coronation Street; Sally Carman Coronation Street spoilers tease that actress Sally Carman is speaking out about being typecast and what she has to say is enlightening.

The actress told The Sun that she often is cast as a prostitute or drug addict but being offered the same roles doesn’t bother her because these are the, “best parts.”

On the ITV soap, her character Abi Franklin is a recovering addict, meanwhile, on the hit show Shameless her character Kelly Maguire was a heroin addict.

Speaking to the outlet she said, “I always go to TV interviews with my hair done, my make-up was done and wearing really nice clothes and they go, “There we go, she’s the prostitute”, or “That’s the woman with the drug problem.” At least she has a sense of humor about it!

She added, “People love to cast me as the down-and-out, but it doesn’t bother me, they’re the best parts to play anyway. Some actors say they don’t want to be pigeon-holed, but for me, that ship has sailed.”

Sally also spilled that despite her character Abi is described as having dirty and greasy hair for the visually impaired, but vowed that she washes her hair every day!

She added, “I’m all right with it and I’ve done various different characters in theatre. I played a posh MP, I’ve done Shakespeare and for years my bread and butter were radio plays.”

Sally’s character Abi was confronted with a ton of drama on the show on Friday after her son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) died in a stunning event.

Seb and his girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) were brutally attacked by a gang of perps over her goth identity.

The storyline was influenced by what happened to Sophie Lancaster, a woman who was murdered in a Lancashire park in 2007, and the soap coordinated details with a foundation set up by the late 20-year-old’s mother Dr. Sylvia Lancaster OBE.

Coronation Street spoilers – Sally Carman Doesn’t Mind Being Typecast

After the beating Nina woke up from her coma but Seb’s brain function was decimated. In the emotional episode, Seb’s mum Abi cried at his bedside after being told his brain was no longer functional.

The doctor told her, “Sebastian failed the brain stem tests. His brain is no longer sending messages to his body.”

‘We were increasing the amount of organ support for Seb but I’m afraid it wasn’t working and his body has shut down.”
