Royal Family News: Prince Andrew Ripped As ‘Pompous’ In Tribute To Prince Philip

British royal family news shows that the Windsor clan gathered recently to honor their late patriarch Prince Philip. Philip died at the age of 99 in April. His family remembered his in a poignant and touching BBC One tribute that aired this week.

But one family member was dragged as being behaving boorishly, think you can guess who that is? The man behaving as, “pompously as ever,” in the new BBC documentary about the royal family is none other than the family member on the hook in a bombshell civil lawsuit.

The suit was brought in NYC and it claims that Prince Andrew sexually assaulted a minor on three occasions. At this point, pompous would seem to be among the more tame adjectives for him.

The BBC show was intended to to mark Philip’s 100th birthday this June. After his death it was retooled into a memorial in which the royal family shared their memories of the late patriarch.

Prince Andrew was allowed to speak despite being put in the corner for the past many months.

Prince Andrew is involved in an ongoing court case with alleged victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre. He has been accused of “hiding” so that he could not be served with papers in the case. In one instance the documents were served to his security guard but his lawyers objected to that being a valid serving.

The matter was turned over to the High Court and they said they would get involved in the legal serving if need be. In the end Andrew’s legal team waved the white flag and admitted that Andrew had been properly served.

For this obfuscation, Andrew was roundly criticized in the media.

Two royal watchers dissected Prince Andrew’s performance. Pod Save The Queen host Ann Gripper and Daily Mirror editor Russell Myers addressed the decision to allow Andrew to participate in the memorial given his disgraced state of affairs.

Myers said, “Andrew pops up […] being pompous as ever. Everyone was really quite heartfelt.”
