Prince Harry has earned a reputation for viewing himself as a victim. For instance, the Duke of Sussex wrote about his challenges in his memoir, Spare. And Harry didn’t spare the world any details of his pity party in a recent court appearance.
However, the Duke of Sussex did take time to once again slam the royal family. Find out what Harry shared. And get more royal details below.
Prince Harry Accuses Royal Family Of Deception
The Duke of Sussex headed to London this week to participate in a civil case against Associated Newspapers. And in the process, Prince Harry accused the royal family of deceiving him. Making himself the victim, Harry alleged that his royal relatives deliberately held back information about a phone hack, according to Radar.
And in his lawsuit, the Duke of Sussex claimed that the publisher also put listening devices in cars to get material for articles. Harry wrote a statement to the court about his allegations. And he included slams for the royal family.
For instance, the Duke of Sussex attacked the royal family’s “never complain, never explain” policy. And he wrote in his statement about his late mother Princess Diana. “Following the death of my mother in 1997 when I was 12 years old and her treatment at the hands of the press, I have always had an uneasy relationship with the press. However, as a member of the [royal family], the policy was to ‘never complain, never explain.’ There was no alternative; I was conditioned to accept it,” claimed Harry.
Meghan Markle Helps Prince Harry See Himself As Victim
And the Duke of Sussex also slammed the royal family for raising him to accept the media’s focus on him. However, then Harry met his now-wife, Meghan Markle. And he shared that when he began dating her, Harry began to question the royal family’s approach of acceptance that the media would want to feature them.

Because the Duke of Sussex became “increasingly troubled by the approach of not taking action against the press,” he started to notice the articles about him and Meghan. And he alleged that the “situation got worse” after the couple welcomed their first child, Archie, in 2019. Prince Harry slammed the royal family for victimizing him by teaching him acceptance.
And he accused his royal relatives of “without a doubt withholding information from me for a long time about NGN’s phone hacking,” said the Duke of Sussex. “And that has only become clear in recent years as I have pursued my own claim with different legal advice and representation.” However, Harry described his move with Meghan from the UK to the United States as marking a key change.
Prince Harry Claims To Make Statements For ‘Love’ Of Country, Not PR
And the Duke of Sussex shared, “The bubble burst in terms of what I knew in 2020 when I moved out of the United Kingdom.” As a result, that move opened the door for Harry to take legal action about the alleged hacking. But Harry then claimed that he did not make his comments for publicity or to improve his public image.
And Harry insisted, “I am bringing this claim because I love my country.” However, he added, “I remain deeply concerned by the unchecked power, influence and criminality of Associated. The evidence I have seen shows that Associated’s journalists are criminals with journalistic powers which should concern every single one of us. The British public deserve to know the full extent of this cover up and I feel it is my duty to expose it.”
