According to royal biographer Tom Bower, he let the cat out of the bag and suggested it was Kate Middleton who had prevented Meghan Markle from coming to the coronation. He said, “I think it’s an ugly compromise.

We must all be grateful that Kate in the end prevented Meghan from coming, saying she ‘wouldn’t have her there under any circumstances’. She said that if she does come, she will have to sit at the back.”

He continued, “I do think that for the Royal Family, Harry’s presence is constitutionally important. If, God forbid, the Cambridges all died, we’d have King Harry on the throne after Charles, so he’s got to be there.”

Of course, Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter. However, there was one report that did say Kate Middleton found it very hard to do the Windsor walkabout with Harry and Meghan back in September shortly after Queen Elizabeth died.

Royal expert Robert Jobson said, “Catherine later admitted to a senior royal that, such was the ill feeling between the two couples, the joint walkabout was one of the hardest things she’d ever had to do.”

Catherine & William need to remember that this is Charles’ coronation, not Catherine’s and not William’s. What they want to happen & who they want to attend is not for them to decide. Charles wants both of his children (and he extension their wives) to attend so all 4 should be allowed to attend.

And any family member who doesn’t want to follow Charles’ desires for His coronation need not attend. And this includes close family members, other senior royals, non-senior royals, etc.

This is time to celebrate Charles’ becoming the current monarch. If W & c don’t like Charles’ wants & plans, then they can miss out. When they become king & queen consort, they can make the decisions about who to allow to attend their coronation. They need to check themselves & remember who they actually are and stop overstepping their place.
