My Big Fat Fabulous Life: Whitney Way Thore Reacts To Funeral Backlash

My Big Fat Fabulous Life spoilers reveal Whitney Way Thore and her family mourning the death of her mother Barbara. However, fans reacted strongly to Whitney filming the funeral. And now the star of My Big Fat Fabulous Life has responded.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life Spoilers – Whitney Shares Mom’s Funeral

Whitney Way Thore filmed her mother Barbara (Babs) Thore’s funeral for My Big Fat Fabulous Life. However, fans of the show disagreed with the star’s decision to do so.

And in response to the backlash, Whitney poured out her emotions on Instagram, noted People.

“I know a lot of people hate me,” confessed the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star. “And I don’t care why.” However, Thore then indicated that she does care.

And she asked fans of the show to realize that her family as well as Whitney herself have suffered after Barbara’s death.

“PLEASE, I am asking some of y’all to think,” added the reality TV star. And she scolded those fans who bully her to “keep you busy, or entertain you, or distract you from your own s—– life.”

But then Whitney pleaded, “PLEASE remember, just for this one instance, that you’re talking about my dead mother.”

And Whitney asked fans to remember that her family “reads this.” However, in the biggest indication that the backlash impacted the Thore family, the star’s father Glenn Thore reacted.

And he shared that he read “comments that are critical of us allowing Babs funeral to be filmed. I thought about people like Princess Diana or more recently the Queen of England whose family felt that having their love one shared with an adoring public was the reason to put their privacy aside.”

But Whitney told Glenn that she agreed with the family’s choice to include the funeral on My Big Fat Fabulous Life. And she urged him to avoid comments.

However, then Thore threw in some shade. And she added that only “the normal, supportive fans comment on my stuff. Love you, Daddy!”

As a result of the family’s decision, My Big Fat Fabulous Life spoilers show the funeral in the upcoming season.

But episodes also will show Whitney and her family grieving the loss of Barbara, who died in December 2022. And the reality TV star teams up with her brother Hunter to figure out how to help their father.

Barbara’s death resulted from a “progressive condition caused by proteins in the blood vessels of the brain that can cause dementia, seizures, or like in my mom’s case, brain bleeding (hemorrhagic strokes),” shared Whitney in December.

And the show previously featured Barbara’s declining health after a stroke prior to her passing. My Big Fat Fabulous Life will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 9 pm ET/PT on TLC and become available on Discovery+ on the same day.
