Reba McEntire – Doesn’t Know How She Feels About Her Fellow “The Voice” Coaches
Reba McEntire is in “The Voice” to win it and she wants to know if there’s any tricks and steals to put her, and the wonderful team of people she will no doubt choose, ahead.
Even though she’s not brand new to the show, having served as a mega-mentor multiple times, it’s her first time being in the red chair.
On Tuesday, McEntire appeared on a new promotional video for season 24 of the NBC competition series, all ready and testing out her very own red chair.
McEntire and Niall Horan are the new faces for this season, while Legend and Stefani are returning coaches.
“Am I supposed to like y’all? Be mean to you? is there something that I need to know to let me win?” the 68-year-old asked in the new video documenting their first day on set together.
Legend, 44, then chimed in, instructing her “to direct all the artists my way,” to which a confused McEntire replied, “your way? What?” Yes, McEntire, we can’t believe him either.
However, it’s all love between Legend and McEntire, who previously praised the “All of Me” singer and fellow coach Horan in an interview with PEOPLE.
“John and Niall [are] all really funny and clever, and always have so many smart things to say, so I’ve got my work cut out for me,” said McEntire. “I’m most excited about basically getting started, and I’m sure that I’ll have lots of help, lots of advice, lots of people coming around saying, ‘You can do this. You can do that.’ And I’m not afraid at all. I think it’ll be a very fun adventure.”
Reba McEntire – Confesses The Blind Auditions Were A Lot Harder Than She Thought
So far, while McEntire loves the energy and optimism of the show, it hasn’t been all that smooth-sailing for her.
“The blind auditions were so much harder than I thought they were going to be,” she said. “They block you, and it’s just so devious — but a lot of fun too!”
She then went on to reveal how well they get along, saying, “Everybody’s just as sweet and kind offstage as they can be. When they come on the stage though, they kinda change their personalities.” Turning to the camera with a laugh, she added, “They’re real mean — especially Gwen!”
The Voice season 24 will premiere on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
