Real Housewives alums Bethenny Frankel and NeNe Leakes used to regard Bravo king Andy Cohen as a friend and colleague. But the RHONY alum and RHOA alum revealed on a recent podcast episode that both faced fall-outs. As a result, Frankel and Leakes have sought to fight for fair treatment, reported People.

But as Bethenny and NeNe recall their history with Cohen, both remember thinking that Andy favored them. For instance, during reunion episodes of the Real Housewives of New York City and the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cohen seemed close to the two reality TV stars in his role as a Bravo TV exec and reunion host. And each also frequently appeared on his talk show, Watch What Happens Live.

However, the two agreed that what seemed like a solid bond with the 55-year-old Bravo exec on TV didn’t match their reality. For instance, Leakes described her friendship with Cohen as a “game” each Bravo star must play. And Frankel compared him to a master game player as well. “He’s at the top and he is moving everybody around on the board.

But Bethenny believes that every Bravo star must play Andy’s game. And she also admitted to his talent for making his reality TV cast members feel that he has formed friendships with them. “I’m sitting next to him at this reunion and now I feel special,” she recalled. “And it reminds me of you with your parents … we all want his approval, we all want to be the favorite. We want to be able to say, ‘I’ve been on that show the most.’ It’s like a calling card.”

Bethenny recently began a campaign to reveal what she views as a reality TV show injustices. And the RHONY alum feels determined to achieve better conditions and payments. As a result, Bravo’s parent company NBC/Universal has established plans to offer mental health support and improve the ability to report concerns. 

However, Frankel shared that she believes Andy resents her rather than wanting to hold onto a friendship. “Because I’m supposed to be beneath him, because we sort of came up at the same time,” she explained of their respective paths to fame. And she admitted she previously stayed silent to protect Cohen. But “he hasn’t been protecting me,” she added.

However, Frankel revealed that she feels for Andy. And she admitted, “I feel badly for how I envision his mind is perceiving it. He’s perceiving it that he represents an institution that has given us opportunities that have been amazing for us, and we do not negate that. But we’ve all worked for that… I feel badly for the way, he must think I have f—ed him over when it’s not about him.”
