Margot Robbie Is Yet To Speak With Lady Gaga About Harley Quinn In Joker 2

Margot Robbie “Can’t wait to see” her Lady Gaga “Crush” her famous character. The star of “Birds of Prey” attended the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, and during her red carpet interview with “Variety,” and “Entertainment Tonight,” she had a lot to say about her character Harley Quinn’s successor.

The “Barbie” actress has played the role of Harley Quinn, Joker’s love interest in Suicide Squad (2016), Birds of Prey (2020), and The Suicide Squad (2021).

However, in 2022, it was reported that someone else would take up the role and that someone else is none other than Lady Gaga.

Gaga will be starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix who will play the Joker in the second sequel. The upcoming movie titled, Joker: Folie à Deux is directed by Todd Phillips.

Speaking with host Marc Malkin, Robbie shared her two cents on how she feels about Gaga playing Quinn. “Oh my God, she’s going to crush it. Are you kidding? She’s going to be amazing, I can’t wait to see it.”

She was also asked if she has had any conversation with her successor over the issue and replied, “I actually haven’t spoken to her about it. I almost don’t want to know so I can save it for the surprise when I get to see the movie.”

A few months after it was reported that Gaga would be the new Harley Quinn, Robbie shared during an interview with “MTV” in October 2022, how she always wished for the character to be one of those characters that gets to be played by different women just like characters like “Batman,” James Bond, even “Macbeth.”

The 33-year-old told the outlet then, “It makes me so happy because I said from the very beginning, all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters, the way Macbeth or Batman always gets passed from great actor to great actor. Someone gets to do their Batman, or someone gets to do their Macbeth.”

She continued, “It’s such an honor to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters that other actors get to have a go at playing. And I think [Gaga will] do something incredible with it.”
