If you thought 2023 was the year of memoirs – Prince Harry, Britney Spears, etc. – you’re so wrong. We’re mere days into 2024 and already we’ll be getting a revealing memoir from the one and only Eric Roberts.
And yeah, our very own “Pretty Woman” Julia Roberts will be making an appearance. It’ll be pretty hard for it to be revealing if delicious details about her don’t make it on, won’t it?
Eric Roberts’ Memoir Will Detail What It’s Like Being One of the Hottest Stars of His Generation
At 67, Roberts has starred in over 700 movies and TV shows since moving to New York City aged 17 to pursue a career in front of the camera.
He’s no doubt accumulated a wealth of knowledge, and in his upcoming memoir, “Runaway Train: Or, the Story of My Life So Far,” he’ll be sharing many of them with us.
We’ll get to read about his life in front of the camera, the wisdoms he’s gained through his craft, and his personal life off-camera, including the hotties he’s dated.
However, as the title suggests, he won’t be leaving out his demons either, as, according to PEOPLE, his addictions affected his career significantly and it’s one of the main themes of the book.
While he grew up away from his sister Julia Roberts, a successful actress in her own right, and his mother, Betty, he’s grown to develop a relationship with Julia over the years – albeit a complicated one.
He’ll also be giving us a glimpse into his home life with casting director, Eliza Roberts. Roberts penned “Runaway Train” with New York Times bestselling author, former Vanity Fair editor and current Air Mail writer-at-large Sam Kashner.
Publishers promise that the memoir will give readers that thrill of having a firsthand account of what New York was like during one of its golden eras.
As one of Hollywood’s most enduring stars, reading about the highs and lows of his career, how he navigated Hollywood and how its workings were like decades ago is sure to be a delight.
“Runaway Train” will be released via St. Martin’s Press on Sept. 17, 2024. So save the date.
