Whoopi Goldberg celebrated a birthday this week and she talked about wanting to leave The View, but she can’t. It came after a discussion about the working class who voted for Donald Trump. TV Shows Ace reminded readers that the show also looked at how AOC wanted to engage with people on why they didn’t vote Democrat, and that was interesting.

Whoopi Goldberg Can’t Leave The View – Why?

It turns out that Whoopi, who has a reported net worth of about $60 million, considers herself a working-class person. She said in part:

If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, okay? I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me too. I work for a living…So, I’m a working person, you know? My kid has to feed her family. My great-granddaughter has to be fed by her family. I know it’s hard out there.

Whoopi Goldberg Gets Stunned Reactions

In the comments section, many people felt shocked becasue Whoopi earns about $8 million a year from The View. Here are some stunned reactions:

  • 8 million a year isn’t ‘a working person’ in the same way 40 hours a week at $40k a year is.
  • Whoopi calling herself a “working person” and saying she’s “having a hard time” like everyone else is one of the most insanely out-of-touch things I’ve ever heard.
  • That was so offensive of Whoopi to compare her struggles to those of the working class.
  • Whoopi, I’m sorry. You’re not working class or do you “need” to work for a living. That was really hurtful. Living means my pay is Required for my home, transport, food. If we don’t work, my kids don’t eat next week. My car would be taken the next week. My home would be taken the following month. That’s working for a Living. And I’m a Democrat.
