Criminal Minds Evolution spoilers and updates reveal there are special surprises ahead in in Season Nineteen. For one, there’s a Star Trek veteran who’s been cast for a mystery role!
Jeri Ryan, Star Trek’s Seven Of Nine Is Coming
Best recognized for her role as Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Voyager and Picard, where she received two Saturn Awards in 2001 and 2024, Jeri Ryan is joining with a strong background.
The main cast of the BAU stays the same for Season 19. Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, Aisha Tyler, and A.J. Cook will all return to their roles, once again delving into the minds of America’s most sinister criminals.
Zach Gilford is also back as Elias Voit. This is the terrifying killer who transformed from the main villain in Season 16 to a morally complex character by Season 18.
Jeri Ryan Is The First New Cast Member For The Show
Ryan is the first new cast member for a secret role that the showrunners are keeping very private. The series first aired on CBS in 2005 and focuses on the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), a special team of FBI profilers.
They study some of the most dangerous criminals in the country, mainly serial killers, to predict their next actions and bring them to justice.
Each episode usually features the BAU team traveling across the U.S., investigating crime scenes, creating psychological profiles, and racing against time to prevent the next attack.
The original series lasted for 15 seasons, concluding in 2020, before being brought back as Criminal Minds: Evolution in 2022 on Paramount+.
The Season Finale For Season Eighteen-What Can We Expect For The Next Season?
Season 18 brought in a new character called “The Disciple,” who is later revealed to be a student of the cult leader Cyrus. The Disciple, Constance “Tessa” Merrick (Jordana Spiro), has survived Cyrus’ 20-year reign of terror.
Instead of fading into the background, she plunges into Voit’s criminal network, leveraging her trauma to try and awaken the dormant Sicarius killer inside him.
She is actively pursuing Voit to form a trauma-bonded family of killers. This shifts the narrative to position Voit not just as prey but also as a possible weapon.
Tessa Arrested, Voit Taken Into Custody
Tessa has been arrested, and Voit is now in custody, creating uncertainty for the Sicarius network’s future. The season concludes on a disturbing note as Voit envisions himself choking another inmate, a chilling reflection of his troubled mind.
His various identities, including the previously dominant Sicarius, appear to be battling each other, leaving viewers curious about which version of Voit will appear in Season 19. All past episodes of Criminal Minds are available for streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. Keep watching for updates.
