Teen Mom alum Nathan Griffith has started a prison sentence in the Southern Desert Correctional Center. It follows an assault on his girlfriend in April this year. Of course, it’s not the first time that Jenelle Evans’ ex was arrested for battery by strangulation. And it’s not the first time that he’s been behind bars.
A Medium Security Prison
The reality TV alum seems to have a favorite way of hurting those people who are close to him. Actually, both of his victims were terrified when he attacked them. Remember, in 2016, he was in hot water for choking another girlfriend. Then, two years ago, he attacked his own sister.

Later, he attacked a new girlfriend named Anastasia Biddle. That happened in April this year, and this time, he wasn’t granted bail because of his previous probation requirements. Many MTV fans hoped he would serve time because he seems to be a repeat offender when it comes to hurting women.
This time, he’s been locked up in a medium-security prison in Nevada, per The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.
Inside Prison & The Wife
It all seems quite complicated when it comes to Nathan Griffith and women. He had attacked his girlfriend, but he was also married to someone named Maya Oyola. She stood by him despite his cheating, and allegedly, he told her it was all “a mistake.”
Well, he should have about three or four years to think about it in prison. Of course, he might get out sooner than in four years if he behaves himself. The former military man had his release date set for May 29, 2027. It might have been for longer, but he had the good sense to plead guilty.
Although he was sentenced two months ago, Nathan Griffith was locked up in the Nevada prison only recently.
Fans React To The News
One thing about Jenelle Evans, she made some questionable decisions about the men in her life. But leaving Nathan might have been the one thing that she got right. When the news about his prison sentence arrived on Reddit, plenty of MTV fans had their say. One of them wrote, “He should be in jail for the rest of his sorry a** life.”
Here are a few more reactions:
- HA! Good. He now has to eat, sleep, bathe…and basically exist only when allowed. He gets no control of his life and gets called a number. He’s now controlled by correction…[and] he’s pretty much at their mercy. He’s done this to himself and he deserves to be where he is.
- he’s exactly where his choices landed him. He had no problem being violent toward women, but now he’s in a place where that cowardly behavior won’t protect him.
- I hope prison breaks and traumatizes him and he comes out a meek little nobody. It’s what he deserves. He doesn’t want to change or rehabilitate…
What are your thoughts? Are you glad that this time, it seems like a harsher sentence, seeing that rehab didn’t seem to make a difference to Kaiser’s dad? Sound off in the comments below, and come back here often for all your Teen Mom cast news and updates.
