Billy Bob Thornton Addresses Landman Exit Rumors

Could Landman survive without its lead and namesake Billy Bob Thornton?  Thankfully, we won’t have to find out any time soon. 

Fans of the wildly popular Paramount + oil-rigging drama were in a frenzy when rumors hit the web reporting that the Tommy Norris portrayer was leaving.  But, the actor has set the record straight.  

In December Paramount renewed Landman for a third season, and it’s believed filming will be underway again later this year.  Thornton sat down with USA Today to discuss the renewal and set the record straight about his status on the series.

According to Billy Bob, “There’s an AI report that Demi and I are a couple now, and there’s one that I’m leaving the show.  They have nothing to do with reality.”

The Landman star added, “It’s been great working with Sam Elliott. And I love doing the show.  I’ll be here as long as it plays out. If it’s five years, great. If it’s six, I’m there.”

It sounds like Billy Bob Thornton is in it for the long haul.  Paramount + definitely has another hit on their hands and the actor is down for the ride.  

Landman Season 3 Spoilers And Tommy’s New Company

Landman season 3 probably won’t actually hit the streaming giant until late 2026 or early 2027.  In the mean time, the show is expected to pick up where the season 2 finale left off and with Tommy Norris unemployed. 

Word on the internet is after getting fired by M-Tex, Tommy will move forward with starting his own oil and cattle company. 

Fans probably haven’t seen the last of M-Tex and Demi Moore, Tommy’s new company will most likely bump heads with them in future episodes.
