General Hospital Spoilers: Obrecht Using Cassius To Get Close To James?

General Hospital brought back fan fave Liesl Obrecht this week and viewers can’t help but wonder if she has known about her son Cassius stealing Nathan’s identity this whole time?

Kathleen Gati’s character was out of town when we learned that Nathan West was actually an impostor.

Now that we know that’s not Nathan, Obrecht’s behavior is starting to seem suspicious.  Is she using her dead son’s twin for her own selfish reasons?

How Could Obrecht Not Know

Now that General Hospital has revealed Cassius’ (Ryan Paevey) identity, we have more questions than answers.

Wouldn’t Liesl Obrecht remember giving birth to two baby boys instead of one?  More importantly, where has Cassius been for all these years?

Since “Nathan” returned, his mom Dr. Liesl Obrecht has been over the moon that he came back to life.  Obrecht loves being a grandmother, and is borderline obsessed with Nathan and Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) son James.

When Maxie returned, Obrecht was thrilled and even pushed for her son to reunite with his former wife.  It certainly SEEMED like she thought Cassius was Nathan.  Was she playing everyone though?

Obrecht’s Motives

Cassius is working for WSB baddies and seems to be taking orders from them.  But, could his mom have orchestrated the entire thing?

When Nathan/Cassius arrived in Port Charles, Maxie Jones was in a coma and his son was being raised by his step-father Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).

Obrecht didn’t get to see James as often as she does now, and wasn’t really that involved in his life.  Did she bring back fake Nathan so that she could get to her grandson?

If Obrecht was afraid that Maxie Jones wasn’t going to wake up, bringing his “father” back would change everything.  Obrecht could even have Cassius go to court for custody of James, as Nathan West of course.  Do you think Liesl knew Nathan was really Cassius this entire time?

Did she set the entire swap up?  Share your theories down below and keep checking back here on Celebrating The Soaps for more General Hospital spoilers and news.
