Joseph Duggar Fallout: Fans Offended By Jinger & Joy-Anna – Why?

Critics call out the Counting On stars for ignoring the real victim during a "hard season."

19 Kids and Counting and Counting On fans seem beyond disappointed in the Duggar family following the arrest of Joseph Duggar for allegedly committing intimate crimes against a young girl in Florida. However, the anger is not only directed at him.

Ahead of the weekend, many TLC fans targeted Jinger Duggar Vuolo and her sister, Joy-Anna Forsyth. Read on to find out why.

The Podcast That Stung TLC Fans

In a recent podcast on YouTube, Jinger Vuolo and Joy-Anna Forsyth chatted during a “sister catch-up” that pressed some buttons for some viewers.

The Jinger & Jeremy podcast was titled “Just Jinger & Joy: A Sister Catch-Up.” Anyway, what folks got wasn’t about Joseph Duggar accused of intimate crimes against a child in Florida.

Nor did it focus very much on the unrelated allegations against Kendra Duggar: four counts of False Imprisonment, and four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

And that annoys folks a lot because TLC fans are aware that Josh Duggar still serves time for CSAM. And associates of the Counting On family also ended up questioned over dodgy behavior involving juveniles in the past

Hitting A Low Bar

The episode hit a low bar for some because Joy-Anna launched into the subject of how bad her life is at the moment.

Jinger Duggar started it off by talking about a “hard season.” And then, Joy-Anna looked tragic and said, “I think that it’s probably been the hardest time I’ve ever gone through honestly.”

Then she went on to talk about how she finds some comfort in a song about turning a “valley of death” into a “valley of worship.”

Other Updates

Other life updates that arrived wandered around gardening, and their favorite coffee orders. But instead of the cozy lifestyle content they likely intended, many fans couldn’t get over the apparent lack of empathy for the victim in the Joseph Duggar case.

While the sisters avoided naming names or detailing specific events during their intro, the subtext wasn’t lost on either true crime or reality TV followers.

Of course, it didn’t take much for them to connect the dots between vague talk of “dark seasons” and “vile” family actions to the fallout from Joseph and his brother Josh.

From the perspective of many Counting On fans, hand-wringing about heavy times before discussing the pros and cons of iced coffee, or dropping baking tips didn’t sit well at all.

Anger Sparked

A lot of viewers who watched the segment seemed outraged and they let the sisters know that making the situation with Joseph Duggar about their own discomfort seemed off. After all, it did seem as if they ignored the real victims.

Others suggested that their flavor of an inconvenient public relations hurdle left a bad taste. Consequently, Jinger and Joy-Anna managed to alienate many followers.

Viewers React

Anger became evident with comments like this one:

Sorry but I don’t feel sorry for any of the girls because they are standing behind their family and backing their brothers that’s truly disgusting!!

Here are a few more responses that suggest a lot of aggravated emotions:

  • They’re not girls, they are adult women and mothers of daughters – where is their disgust at this act and rage at their vile brother. God bless the victim the child that was involved children come first always. You all aren’t the victims the child is period.
  • You are not a victim. You are aiding and abetting the abuser.
  • How can you NOT say one word of concern for the victim. It’s all about how this is affecting YOU. Take a step back. God did NOT do this to you or anyone else. Your deplorable, selfish brother is the ONLY one you should be blaming. The victim has to carry this abuse with her for her entire life.

As you can see, those 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On fans certainly didn’t pull their punches with Jinger and Joy-Anna.
