19 Kids and Counting alum, Josh Duggar, 37, is serving a 151-month sentence at FCI Seagoville in Dallas, Texas. His release date for his CSAM conviction is set for October 2032. Recently, he appealed for legal help to appeal his case. Read on for more details.
A Letter From Prison
The Sun US reported late last week that Duggar filed a motion with Judge Timothy L. Brooks, requesting legal counsel. He wants some help to thoroughly review his conviction. The outlet noted that the letter referred to how the former TLC star thinks his time behind bars has made him focus on personal growth, “education, faith,” and maintaining family connections.

However, he believes his case has “significant issues relating to trial errors, evidentiary rulings, and other constitutional violations” that demand further investigation. He also talked about his inability to assess these matters alone. Basically, Josh wants someone to be appointed to determine if legal relief is appropriate.
Pardon Speculation
Pardon speculation arose, suggesting Jim Bob Duggar, patriarch of the 19 Kids and Counting family, hopes President Donald Trump will pardon his oldest son. That came after Savannah Chrisley spoke at the Republican National Convention about unfair imprisonment.
Todd Chrisley was released, but so far, nothing has happened for Josh Duggar. Many fans of the show think Josh has run out of appeals for his crime, which he claims someone else committed. Derick Dillard spoke about a possible pardon he discussed with Jim Bob during the Christmas season.
Derick dismissed the idea for his brother-in-law. Dillard hinted that Jim Bob “believes that Trump is going to be able to pardon Josh.” However, disagreement arose after Jim Bob did not want to hear Derick’s legal perspectives, even though he is a practicing attorney these days. On social media, Derick suggested that Jim Bob’s “arrogance” was inherited by Josh and made him “feel sick.”
A Desperate Bid for Freedom?
It seemed that Josh had run out of ideas to get out of prison. Possibly, he’s given up on a pardon by Trump. He’s going to be locked away for a long time unless something gives soon. However, it’s not clear that he will come up with any new evidence. Repeatedly, he blames other people, and the court has heard all of that before.
Josh hasn’t been a good boy in prison despite claiming he changed. He previously landed in solitary confinement for possessing a forbidden phone. That sort of thing won’t look all that good for him if he even gets legal help for another appeal.
What are your thoughts? Do you think that Josh Duggar is likely to get more help for his case? Is a pardon likely? Let us know in the comments below, and come back here often for all your Celebrity Justice news and updates.
